If you are a blogger who has taken the pledge and linked to the site, please send me a note so I can add your support here.
I interviewed Tony Snow at the top of the program today, and Senator Norm Coleman is scheduled in hour two.
After you have taken the pledge, please call Senator McConnell's office and urge a filibuster of Senator Biden's and Senator Warner's resolutions.
Senator McConnell's office number is (202) 224-2541. The capitol switchboard is 202-225-3121. Senator McConnell's e-mail is here.
Yesterday General Petraeus testified that the Biden/Warner resolutions and those like them encourage the enemy.
What does it mean, "to encourage the enemy?"

"If the United States Senate passes a resolution, non-binding or otherwise, that criticizes the commitment of additional troops to Iraq that General Petraeus has asked for and that the president has pledged, and if the Senate does so after the testimony of General Petraeus on January 23 that such a resolution will be an encouragement to the enemy, I will not contribute to any Republican senator who voted for the resolution. Further, if any Republican senator who votes for such a resolution is a candidate for re-election in 2008, I will not contribute to the National Republican Senatorial Committee unless the Chairman of that Committee, Senator Ensign, commits in writing that none of the funds of the NRSC will go to support the re-election of any senator supporting the non-binding resolution."
I TOOK THE PLEDGE!!
Pledge has 1395 signitures right now. Just started this afternoon.
We keep claiming that this "new media" is powerful. Well, this is our chance to show it!
Good for you! Spread the word so we can send a wake up call to the Faint Hearted Republicans and Rhinos on Capitol Hill!
Great. Thanks for posting this. I'll call Kit Bond's office in the morning to thank him for his support before I call the others.
LOL....I only signed it 30 minutes or so ago and it was in the 700's then!!
Subject: FW: A Real Marine
A United States Marine was attending some college courses between assignments. He had completed missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. One of the courses had a professor who was an avowed atheist and a member of the ACLU.
One day the professor shocked the class when he came in. He looked to the ceiling and flatly stated, "God, if you are real, then I want you to knock me off this pl atform. I'll give you exactly 15 minutes."
The lecture room fell silent. You could hear a pin drop.
Ten minutes went by and the professor proclaimed, "Here I am God. I'm still waiting."
It got down to the last couple of minutes when the Marine got out of his chair, went up to the professor, and cold-cocked him, knocking him off the platform. The professor was out cold. The Marine went back to his seat and sat there, silently. The other students were shocked and stunned and sat there looking on in silence. The professor eventually came to, noticeably shaken, looked at the Marine and asked, "What the hell is the matter with you? Why did you do that?"
The Marine calmly replied, "God was too busy today protecting America's troops who are protecting your right to say stupid things and act like an idiot. .................So, He sent me."
I just took the pledge..
And I put the pledge up on another board I belong at..
Thanks...let's get this thing going! Someone should send it to michelle malkin and LGF too.
LOL...I love it!!
Done and bttt!
I think only one Republican senator voted in favor of the non-binding resolution: Chuck Hagel. Isn't that correct?
Pledge taken
Filibuster, my (&(&@#@Q! I want to revoke biden's GOP credentials. Sorry so-and-so shouldn't be allowed to be a Republican.
Biden is working on another stupid resolution(I think this is the one he is working on, but not sure)
* Senator John McCain asked Petraeus if approval of a Senate resolution assailing Mr. Bushs new strategy could hurt the morale of American troops, the general replied, It would not be a beneficial effect, sir.
* Senator Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut asked if such a resolution would also give the enemy some encouragement by suggesting that the American people are divided, General Petraeus replied, Thats correct, sir.
Yes.
Apparently this exchange sent Warner into a hissy fit.....LOL!!
So far, but there are a number of others out there who are willing to vote for one of them.
Republican Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn., said he didn't support the resolution because he didn't believe it would affect administration policy. Instead, he said next time he talks to Tennessee soldiers he will tell them, "I oppose what you are doing but I thank you for your service."

General David Petraeus testified before the Senate Armed Services Committee. When asked if he could get his job done in Iraq without additional troops, he replied: No, sir. When asked if a congressional resolution of disapproval of the surge could encourage the enemy, he said, Thats correct, sir.
