Louisiana Governor Lashes Out at Bush

Gov. Kathleen Blanco angrily criticized President Bush on Wednesday for not mentioning 2005's destructive hurricanes in his State of the Union speech, and said Louisiana is being shortchanged in federal recovery funding for political reasons.
"I guess the pain of the hurricane is yesterday's news in Washington," Blanco said at a news conference.

And it is yesterday's news everywhere else, too.Yeah, and how's the Gulf coast of Mississippi doing? We never heard any b!tching and moaning from the people who lived there, and it was just as devastated as N.O. They quietly went about the business of rebuilding, refusing to adopt victim-status, from what I can gather.
