Can we read the actual proposal before we all start jerking our knees? The Dems hate it so it must be something that will benefit the people.

Regarding the economic imbalance in our country, I am reminded of the situation President Theodore Roosevelt faced in the early days of the 20th century. America was then, as now, drifting apart along class lines. The so-called robber barons were unapologetically raking in a huge percentage of the national wealth. The dispossessed workers at the bottom were threatening revolt. Roosevelt spoke strongly against these divisions. He told his fellow Republicans that they must set themselves as resolutely against improper corporate influence on the one hand as against demagogy and mob rule on the other. And he did something about it.
From Roosevelt and Taft we got Violent Trade Union strikes and continued class warfare for a hundred years!

He said we'd be there like 50 years. Since then, the democrats have done their best to ensure his doomsday scenario comes true.

Who is this Webb? He's about as dry as a popcorn fart. He could put an insomniac to sleep before he completes a sentence. An Al Gore wannabe.
To: nopardons
Speaking in general to a new tactic I've noticed here on FR: sign up to FR as a border hardliner: vent on and on about NO amnesty, NO immigration, Bush is a failure like his dad, etc, etc... noone even notices around here anymore.

It was a fine speech. GWB looked centered, sure and at peace with his decisions.I agree.

I don't know what he is getting; all I know, is that McCain's skin cancer keeps coming back. I don't like him or his politics, but I do hope that he's getting better treatment than he has had.

Great we have an large forehead and a set of eyebrows running our state. Why have I been disgraced by this twice now? Geesh. It was embarrassing enough the first time.

Reckon his son calls him every night and tells him he hates being in Iraq or maybe he wishes his dad would shut up?

WOW oh wise and smart one. May be you need to establish your own highly intellectual website and ask all the "Super and Holier than You Conservatives" join you. Feeling a tad defensive, huh? I find that those who respond to comments directed at a group in general tend to be those most guilty of the offense.

We've been analyzing it all day on another thread.

I agree.
His cancer is a very serious kind and keeps reappearing; nothing seems to be helping him.

"I couldn't care less about his/her popularity, good deeds, etc. His comment was a mere vehicle to make a point to Freepers who actually care about the truth of Bush's "health insurance plan" what is really going on with it."
Did you say you were a university professor? If so, where did you teach? I want to make sure my kids don't attend where attacking someone to "make a point" is acceptable.
