agreed! I won't waste my vote on someone who doesn't believe in our war against terrorism. For me Newt is the only one left of the major parties.

Voted against the border fence.
Voted for "comprehensive immigration" bill.
A real conservative would protect the borders and sovereignty of this country - not be an open borders advocate.
I would sit out the election before I would reward him and the Republican party for this type of behavior.
He's a real nonstarter.

Brownback, because he's liberal on certain issues.
They don't want to give any air-time to a true conservative.

Anyone who doesn't "support the war anymore" after our troops were sent into that same war by a vote of Congress and after many have been willing to give their life for the war - can not be CIC. PERIOD. The troops deserve so much more.

No, he's not the only one. Please, please, I urge you to look into Duncan Hunter.
Newt's great though. He's a very intelligent man and I admire him a lot.

If you can get name recognition for him, great, he has my support. but who has a better chance with CNN and NBC, Brownback or Hunter?
See if I can fix this for you...

If your a conservative, the choice is easy. Check the bio's, ya's, na's, and others. Pesky little things, like facts, support Hunter. Need to to get some name recognition going!

McCain, who is probably gonna win also voted for amnesty so they are equal there. He also opposed tax cuts while brownback supported them. i donno, to me Brownback looks like a better choice. maybe it's just living in kansas. if we're gonna have an idiot president, it might as well be a local idiot

"My family and I are taking the first steps on the yellow brick road to the White House. It's a great journey," Brownback said, returning to his home state to declare his intention to seek his party's nomination in 2008. Any candidate making an introductory statement so awfully, profoundly, painfully lame is automatically disqualified.

Truth be known, most of them are good folks -- but some have drunk the Potomac more than others and believe their own press releases. Shiny principles so important in lofty campaign speeches sort of vanish with those who are drawn in. Happens pretty often. But in two decades in DC, I can honestly say that Santorum is probably one of the best folks around here.
To: ConservativeGadfly
Yeah, I don't think he gets credit for his years in Congress either. I think he did a lot for the pro-life movement--and I'm sure God will judge him for his good deeds in that area.

Bush aint the greatest speaker either... Exactly. The GOP desperately needs a smart, articulate candidate. I want to see a President who will be at one of those joint news conferences with foreign leaders (e.g. Blair), and instead of making me wince, make me proud of the presence and abilities of my American President.
Brownback isn't going to do that.
