Iraq: more than 600 militiamans Shiites of Sadr placed in detention
BAGHDAD - the Iraqi forces of safety and the multinational Force stopped more than 600 militiamans of the Army of Mahdi, of the radical chief Moqtada Sadr Shiite, who wait to be judged by the Iraqi government, announced Monday the American army.
More than 16 frameworks placed high of this militia were stopped and one of them was killed, specified the army in an official statement.
Five of these frameworks are commanders of groups armed in the popular district Shiite with Sadr City, in the east of Baghdad, bastion of the militia.
These last arrests took place during the last 45 days, at the time of 52 raids aiming at the Army of Mahdi. Over the same period, 42 raids aimed at extremists sunnites.
Doesn't that idiot Maliki know that Pelousy and Screid told the world that there was no way he would do this? Why, what is he trying to do? Undermine the Democrats or something?
It's over. Sadr is melting away, Maliki is putting on a show and Bush is a chump playing PC ball.
16 frameworks????
Sounds like a press release about past achievements rather than something new.
You sure act like you know all, when you sure as hell don't. Sadr is being taken apart piece by piece and Iraq will be better for it.
All your frameworks belong to us!

Dude, they're arresting, not killing. This is a sham...
All too true. The surge will come and go and Al Sadr and his army will eventually take over.
Don't bet on it.
do the security forces exist,
to occupy the places being cleared?
I rather doubt it.
this is meaningless
zarf,
I totally understand your doubt, but going after Sadr is a relatively new factor in the Iraq equation. Up until recently Malaki was playing bodyguard to this punk.
I hope that Malaki realized that, if the present government falls he will be dragged through the streets, no matter what he did to protect Sadr. Sadr is not loyal.. No one in Iraq is loyal, so you have to play on selfish realism.
I hope I'm right, that Malaki has decided that it's either he or Sadr who will be left standing, and he's decided it will be him. Sadr's days are numbered.
Actually I think he may know something.
It is a revolving door. Arrest them and just like young car thieves here they are out in days if not hours.
Allegra, I hope and pray you are right. This is the biggest impediment to peace in Iraq that I see. What are your thoughts on Maliki? Are there any other viable candidates waiting in the wings? I always look forward to reading your thoughts and observations. Please be safe.
