Nearly two-thirds in U.S. have given up on Iraq (two-thirds of U.S. are losers)

WASHINGTON - When President Bush delivers his next-to-last State of the Union address Tuesday night, he will confront this reality, according to the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll: Nearly two-thirds of Americans appear to have given up on success in Iraq and also on his presidency.

In addition, the poll finds that nearly another two-thirds believe he shouldn’t move ahead with his troop increase to Iraq, if Congress passes a non-binding resolution opposing it. And it shows that just two in 10 want Bush taking the lead role in setting policy for the country.

“Essentially, the president is really in the cellar of public opinion,” says Democratic pollster Peter D. Hart, who conducted this poll with Republican Bill McInturff. “As he faces the audience for his State of the Union, he’s going to find a mood dramatically different to the mood that greeted him at his second inaugural.”

I gave up on the Colts when Manning threw the pic and they went down 21- 3. Look where that got me.

You will never be satisfied.

How did you feel when you woke up to a Democrat controlled House in November? Are you going to support a Democrat or third party for President? Don't tell me about the Constitution Party either.

"You will never be satisfied."

You, apparently, think we exist to serve politicians.

"How did you feel when you woke up to a Democrat controlled House in November? "

I wondered if the liberal Republicans were finally satisfied.

"Are you going to support a Democrat or third party for President?"

I will not vote Rudy or McCain. Sorry. If I have to, I'll write someone - anyone - in. If you want our votes, support conservatives in the primaries. If you want liberals, you'll be voting for them alone.

I am a conservative. I have stood for years and still stand AGAINST the Left EVERY Friday, and up until recently, on Sunday as well. I WAS a Democrat, and a liberal, until I began to CRITICALLY THINK and understand.

I DO NOT think that we are here to serve the politicians.

Whether liberal Republicans were satisfied with the outcome of the November election was not the question. Could you please not dodge the question.

Writing in a candidate is counter productive. By writing in, you are in effect, casting your vote for Pelosi, Reid, Murtha, Kennedy, Levin, Kerry, and the entire party that you so vehemently disagree with, especially Hillary. I agree with you on McCain, and generally on Guilliani as well. However, while Rudy is liberal, he is no McCain. I will never cast a vote for another Democrat, not even if Zell Miller were to run, because I would get the entire baggage. I don't want to wake up with White House in Democrat hands.

I believe that we should support conservatives in the primaries, with the hope that they have a spine and are up for the fight.

I never was a Democrat.

I'm not satisfied. The only people satisfied are those who can now get their legislative agenda enacted with political cover - liberal Republicans.

False. That vote will be counted as one the Republicans lost. Voting for Rudy is the SAME as voting for Hillary.

"I don't want to wake up with White House in Democrat hands. "

Then, stop pushing Democrats like Rudy. Simple, no?

"I believe that we should support conservatives in the primaries, with the hope that they have a spine and are up for the fight."

Sure. I won't support liberals in the general of any party.

"I never was a Democrat."

Bully for you. I grew up during the JFK era at ground zero of the Cuban Missle Crisis. But it is better for those of us to finally see the agenda they are playing, than not at all. Again, I say, "You'll never be satisfied."

"I'm not satisfied. The only people satisfied are those who can now get their legislative agenda enacted with political cover - liberal Republicans."

The Republicans will never be conservative enough for
people like you.

"False. That vote will be counted as one the Republicans lost. Voting for Rudy is the SAME as voting for Hillary."

It is not false. Write-ins and votes for third party ARE votes for the Democrats. That is how they came to power in November. While Rudy is fairly liberal, he is not the same as Hillary in any respect. For one thing, Hillary would have taken the Saudi Arabian Prince's money and then invited him over for lunch.

"Then, stop pushing Democrats like Rudy. Simple, no?"

I'm not pushing Rudy. You have no idea who I am voting for. The only thing you have are ASSumptions. Funny that you should use, "Simple, no?" I use plain American phrases and don't have to resort to European ones. Thought you would have too.

"Sure. I won't support liberals in the general of any party."

You will be supporting liberals in the next election, because as I've stated before..."You'll NEVER be satisfied."

Bye Bye

I'm a well-read American. We do exist.

"It is not false. Write-ins and votes for third party ARE votes for the Democrats. That is how they came to power in November."

False. Do you just make things up as you go along?

"While Rudy is fairly liberal, he is not the same as Hillary in any respect. For one thing, Hillary would have taken the Saudi Arabian Prince's money and then invited him over for lunch. "

He's a petty tyrant just like Hillary. She'd have responded in the same manner if she considered it politically expedient.

"You will be supporting liberals in the next election, because as I've stated before..."You'll NEVER be satisfied." "

I will not be supporting liberals from either party. I will be supporting *conservatives*. I don't take time out from my day to vote to give jobs to Republicans. I don't donate my own money to give jobs to Republicans. I vote and donate to advance conservative principles. I've seen nearly none of that in 6 years of controlling two branches of government. What I have seen is more of the same.
