Nearly two-thirds in U.S. have given up on Iraq (two-thirds of U.S. are losers)

WASHINGTON - When President Bush delivers his next-to-last State of the Union address Tuesday night, he will confront this reality, according to the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll: Nearly two-thirds of Americans appear to have given up on success in Iraq and also on his presidency.

In addition, the poll finds that nearly another two-thirds believe he shouldn’t move ahead with his troop increase to Iraq, if Congress passes a non-binding resolution opposing it. And it shows that just two in 10 want Bush taking the lead role in setting policy for the country.

“Essentially, the president is really in the cellar of public opinion,” says Democratic pollster Peter D. Hart, who conducted this poll with Republican Bill McInturff. “As he faces the audience for his State of the Union, he’s going to find a mood dramatically different to the mood that greeted him at his second inaugural.”

Given that the MSM claims that President Bush is not following the Iraq Study Group Report and given that the Iraq Study Group Report calls for a troop surge, I'd say that 100% of that 65% have been thoroughly fubarred by the media. I'd sue for journalistic malpractice if I were part of that 65%.

Well stated. We ware handling the occupation as a PC exercise, this isn't a situation that lends itself to being nice. I think the complaints that the administration didn't have a after action plan is right on. Because of this and Pres. Bush's failure to meet head on the critics a good part of the nation can't come up with a good reason to stay. Can't blame them.

Captured intel reveals al-Qaida U.S. attack plan

If we're not fighting them there then we are fighting them here but some of our congressional traitors don't see it.

“If we had a British parliamentary system, there would be a call for a vote of no confidence. Essentially what the poll is, is a vote of no confidence.”

This essentially sums up the Dems for you....if this, if that. They're always saying things like, "If the election were held today...."

The election is not being held today and we don't have a British parliamentary system. Stop wallowing in hypotheticals and give us your plan. That's right.....you don't have one.

Yes! They had been playing us for fools for over 12 years with the UN's endorsement and enough was enough.

Those 2/3's need to see ABC's story here:

www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1771812/posts

It details AQ terrorist threats on the U.S. originating in Iraq.

Tactics change in almost every war and I'm glad it's finally happening in Iraq being long overdue. We can and will win.

The two-thirds are too stupid to read and understand what a threat is.
