Activist rains on Romney's parade; Says the candidate is not conservative
The Boston Globe ^ | January 22, 2007 | Michael Levenson

Posted on 01/22/2007 6:28:45 AM PST by HostileTerritory

t was 4 a.m. Brian Camenker , 53, a computer programmer, sat at his kitchen table in Newton, hunched over his Toshiba laptop. Strewn around him were papers detailing former governor Mitt Romney's alleged ties to gay youth conferences, gay judges, and abortion rights activists.

The documents, mostly printouts of news stories, represented weeks of work by Camenker and a few volunteers who had searched the Internet for material to disprove Romney's assertions that he is a conservative. Now, the results glowed on the screen in front of him, compiled into a 10,000-word dossier, "The Mitt Romney Deception."

...

In addition to quoting Romney from his Senate campaign, the report excavates several little-known items. One is a photograph of a pink flier that Romney aides distributed at a gay pride march in Boston in 2002. "Mitt and Kerry wish you a great Pride Weekend!" the flier states. "All citizens deserve equal rights, regardless of their sexual preference."

Another item quotes Kathleen Henry, chairwoman of the Governor's Commission on Gay and Lesbian Youth, saying Romney proposed doubling the commission's budget in fiscal year 2006, to $250,000. "It's really huge," said Henry, quoted in a Globe story. "It says to us clearly that he gets the service for what it really is."

Conservatives responded instantly.

"Through phone conservations and e-mail, it's making its rounds and there is a growing tide of concern within pro-family organizations that the governor has some real explaining to do," said J. Matt Barber , policy director for cultural issues at Concerned Women for America.

Ahem, I will NOT beg YOUR pardon, or anyone else' at any time. Your self conceived belief of being a conservative is strictly subjective on your part. Mitt Romney received the nod of the SLOC strictly by his name alone. The man is a moderate - how do you think he was elected to the gubernatorial seat of his state?

Salt Lake City, or the seat of the LDS church' power base is NOT the basis by which I would draw a standard as being a conservative. For one, I live there, for another, being the retired military vetaran I am I was disgusted with their ability to perceive true events throughout the world.

Two years on a mission does NOT qualify anyone as a conservative, and no I am not going by your post. Mitt Romney is a moderate plain and simple. If you don't like it, follow him, and watch how he is destroyed by true conservatives as he is questioned through this process.

Mitt Romney does NOT have the experience, skill, or knowledge to become President - i.e., he's out of the loop in that area.

He would become crushed under the wheels of the Clinton / Soros money machine.

I will watch laughingly as he is destroyed piecemeal in the political process.

[Who gets to decide what is deviant sexual behavior? ]

Nature does.

There are no primates, including Homo Sapiens, in which members of the same sex can reproduce without the aid of technology.

Mammalian reproductive biology. Penis + vagina = baby.

LOGIC says anything outside of coitus is perversion. The anatomical function is axiomatic.

In my state, the purists opposed Rick Santorum because he endorsed Arlen Specter instead of a "pure" conservative in the PA. primary. Now, we have Casey in the Senate and Santorum is history.

Duncan Hunter and Sam Brownback can't win. They're unknown back benchers with no chance against Hillary. Vote for one of them in the primaries and Hillary is the next president.

But do you want somebody else dictating that for you?

What if you had an accident and were bound to a wheelchair and had to come up with a creative way to be intimate with your husband or wife?

Whatever you do will be considered a deviation by someone.

Also, does your description mean that people who are not of childbearing age or unable to bear children should not engage in sex?

My comment had nothing to do with same sex relations.

You queried regarding "deviant sexual behavior"

I provided an example of behavior that is, per Logic and Natural Law, deviant.

Nature dictates it. I have no power over nature.

Was Freudian psychoanalytic theory of sexual stages in psychological development more accurate than accredited?

The Michael Jackson Complex is fixation on mutilation of and deviance with human anatomy in the media. It is a social psychosis catering to the lowest common denominator and generated with Pavlovian behavioral conditioning in popular culture.

Should we really be canonizing special societal privileges in the law based on idolatrous fetishes? Disability, welfare, Social Security, etc., etc., ad nausea...

The social psychosis generated by behavioral conditioning (Pavlov's salivating dogs) in the popular culture and the conditioned response to accept the false premises of mental illness or birth defect will be used as a political tool to systematically rob the public purse.

Then, we could have other self-inflicted mental illness and disease (aside from those we already do) subsidized by the government consolidating an ever increasing portion of the economy in the hands of the cultural Marxists.

In a secular sense, homosexuality is an idolatry of perversion. It is in no way an anatomical function of the human organism, but a phantasmagoric creation from within the mentally disturbed human mind, a social psychosis, naked and on full exhibitionist display.

Homosexual monogamy advocates seek ceremonious sanctification of their anatomical perversions and esoteric absolution for their guilt-ridden, impoverished egos.

Neither of those will satisfy their universal dissatisfaction with mortality or connect them to something eternal. With pantheons of fantasies as their medium of infinitization, they still have nothing in them of reality, any more than there is in the things that seem to stand before us in a dream.

P.S. The application of the same is equally valid in logic and in nature for heterosexuals...

Humans are not animals. We are the only ones who are not naked...

That assumes that the sole purpose of sex is reproduction. In Judaism, one of the purposes of sex is to bring the husband and wife closer together -- thus sex is encouraged, even in couples where it cannot lead to reproduction.

As such, if a married couple is into some non-reproductive sexual act that brings them closer together... well, maybe it's perverision, but then, God Bless Perversion!

It appears to me that the trouble usually arises when people think with the little head instead of the big one.

I'm not someone who believes in Original Sin. But I've long wondered that, if there is Original Sin, it wasn't disobedience, but shame.

Nowhere in my post was I defending Mr. Romney as being a conservative - I was merely disagreeing with your assertion that members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints were all moderates and weaklings. I don't live in Utah, never been to Salt Lake, so I don't know what thier culture of politics is in that particular area. However, I have lived in California, Nevada, Idaho and Arizona, and I can tell you emphatically that most members in those areas vote in as big conservative blocks as thier numbers allow.

As for conservatism being subjective, I suppose I could use the same argument to question your conservatism. Because you don't know me, I don't expect you to know that I am a rabid conservative grassroots activist here in Nevada and have been a featured speaker at several conservative venues as well as have been interviewed by conservative media. Everyone who knows me would think it laughable to say I am anything but a conservative. (I practically channel Ann Coulter for goodness sakes!)

I totally respect that you don't like Mitt Romney - that is certainly your perogative. I have no choice but to accept that you have issues with the LDS church - that is also your perogative. However, I wanted to set the record straight specifically about the generalized attack on a group of people who love this country and are fighting to protect its ideals. Above all, I wanted to point out that we were on the same side.

So if I put a sweater on my dog, he's no longer an animal? (And then there's that problem with the shower, where, I guess, we become naked animals for a half-hour or so each morning.)
