Ahem, I will NOT beg YOUR pardon, or anyone else' at any time. Your self conceived belief of being a conservative is strictly subjective on your part. Mitt Romney received the nod of the SLOC strictly by his name alone. The man is a moderate - how do you think he was elected to the gubernatorial seat of his state?

Salt Lake City, or the seat of the LDS church' power base is NOT the basis by which I would draw a standard as being a conservative. For one, I live there, for another, being the retired military vetaran I am I was disgusted with their ability to perceive true events throughout the world.

Two years on a mission does NOT qualify anyone as a conservative, and no I am not going by your post. Mitt Romney is a moderate plain and simple. If you don't like it, follow him, and watch how he is destroyed by true conservatives as he is questioned through this process.

Mitt Romney does NOT have the experience, skill, or knowledge to become President - i.e., he's out of the loop in that area.

He would become crushed under the wheels of the Clinton / Soros money machine.

I will watch laughingly as he is destroyed piecemeal in the political process.

Nowhere in my post was I defending Mr. Romney as being a conservative - I was merely disagreeing with your assertion that members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints were all moderates and weaklings. I don't live in Utah, never been to Salt Lake, so I don't know what thier culture of politics is in that particular area. However, I have lived in California, Nevada, Idaho and Arizona, and I can tell you emphatically that most members in those areas vote in as big conservative blocks as thier numbers allow.

As for conservatism being subjective, I suppose I could use the same argument to question your conservatism. Because you don't know me, I don't expect you to know that I am a rabid conservative grassroots activist here in Nevada and have been a featured speaker at several conservative venues as well as have been interviewed by conservative media. Everyone who knows me would think it laughable to say I am anything but a conservative. (I practically channel Ann Coulter for goodness sakes!)

I totally respect that you don't like Mitt Romney - that is certainly your perogative. I have no choice but to accept that you have issues with the LDS church - that is also your perogative. However, I wanted to set the record straight specifically about the generalized attack on a group of people who love this country and are fighting to protect its ideals. Above all, I wanted to point out that we were on the same side.

"Mitt Romney does NOT have the experience, skill, or knowledge to become President - i.e., he's out of the loop in that area."

He is definately liberal, however, Utah always supports republicans. That would seem to indicate Mormons as a whole are cconservative.
