I think that I'd treat both the invitation and the 'Republican' ladies the same way I've seen baseball umpires treat a manager who just threw a hissy fit over one of his calls: Thank them very sincerely for their input, give 'em a moment to speak calmly and logically and then throw the bum out.

Editing that group's newsletter sounds to me like putting a ball gown on a sow: Lots of effort and nothing to show as a result but an overdressed (and probably annoyed) pig.

The second half of the opening segment on MTP is dedicated to beating up McCain, having used McCain to do as much destruction to George Bush as he possibly could. McCain looked a bit surprised at the "beating" Timmy was administering. After all, he played along during part one.

YOurs is one post I always look forward to on this thread. Thanks as always for posting the media nuggets. Here is one other one, FYI. From: http://mediabistro.com/tvnewser/

What Katie "Didn't Say About the Briefing"
Katie Couric "noticed something unusual" at last week's White House briefing for network anchors: she was "the only woman there."

But there's something she didn't say about the meeting, Dick Prince says: "Missing from Couric's observation -- and those of the readers and media writers -- was that there were zero journalists of color in the room..."

We're in for twenty or so months of her fortress of paid operatives, private investigators, various and assorted fixers and enforcers, softball media hosts, the sycophantic and protective old lying Marxist media, loads of screened audiences, and as you say, the virtual ubiquity of meaningless listening tours. ............... Bullseye! It works in New York. We'll see if it works in the rest of the country. I'll bet it will. The MSM will see to it.

It will most likely work to perfection.

In fact I would bet that she could feign an illness, go into the hospital for the last three or four months of the campaign and she'd still win. The media will pull her through............ unless Edwards can derail her much earlier.

Edwards has a chance in my mind.

Re the headline: The reporter apparently doesn't know the meaning of "intellectual". What evidence is there that Obama is "intellectual"? None that I have observed, but I'm neither in the media nor brain dead.

Biden is not the dumbest member of the Senate, he has too much competition. Let's see now, Bill Nelson (dumb and senile) tom Harkin, Dick Dustbin,Patty Murray, Barbara Boxarocks, Barbara Mikulski, and that is just the Rats. Biden is not really smart, but he is mostly arrogant. Look at the Republican Dimwits Lugar, Warner, Martinez, Warner, Collins, the list seems endless.

I caught the last few minutes of the McCain interview. I was surprised that Russert was rather rough with his questions to Johnnyboy. John didn't smile much during those latter moments of the interview.

Has McCain's star dimmed now that Obama and Hillary are on center stage?

From your list, it appears Obama can be seen as "intellectual" by comparison.

Foxnew in brief:

Biden and Levin bashing Bush and Cheney.

Newt praising every dem he could think of.

Wallace asking questions that wouldn't probe a three year old.

Kennedy says that the President must prove to the country that the surge will work. He must come to congress and convince them that this will work. He must get a new authorization.

LOL. Kennedy says Nazi Pelosi has had a spectacular week as Speaker right after Timmy reads him the quote saying the Prez is rushing to put troops in harm's way to prevent the cutting off of funding.

Mara Liasson is orgasmic over Hillary being in the race now.
