President Reagan thought that the survival of America as a free nation was contingent upon stopping abortion. Freedom could not exist when some decide that others are not fit to live and should be abandoned to abortion or infanticide. Perfect!

Which is why every time pro-lifers are called the "unappeasables" or "one issue voters" we should wear it as a badge of honor. No candidate who fails to understand this most fundamental concept is worthy of high national office.

I ordered a copy of President Reagan's book, "Abortion and the Conscience of a Nation" when it came out.
It was very strange. I heard about it through right-to-life organizations. But the book was never even mentioned in the mainstream press, and needless to say it was disqualified for the New York Times Best Seller List.
The same with The Catechism of the Catholic Church, which sold millions of copies the first year it came out. But the Times has special rules to ensure that that kind of book never appears on their list.

President Reagan felt passionately about the vacuum in modern life caused by the loss of belief in God. Indeed, the two most important issues to him, school prayer and abortion, were closely intertwined. President Reagan thought abortion was a particularly grievous wrong. Indeed, he thought it was so evil that he wrote a book, Abortion and the Conscience of a Nationthe only book he wrote besides his two autobiographies.
A good thing to remember in a time when RINOs promoting revisionist history would ask us to see Reagan as a man who was concerned with fiscal conservatism and national defense alone.

You should read this speech. Reagan gave it in early 1975 after the GOP got trounced in the midterm elections in the wake of Watergate. Other than a few names and specific events, the speech is every bit as relevant today as it was thrity two years ago.

I plan to go Monday with my mom, my sister, and my brother. What time does the March start?

I have never heard of the Reagan book on abortion...just looked it up at my local library and they don't have it, but I can get it through inter-library loan (my budget doesn't justify any new books for the forseeable future).
Thanks for the recommendation!

EVERY Republican candidate should ponder well Reagan's successes and legacy.
