Maybe Mr Reagan needs to go on the O'Reilly show and put that pundit straight.

Yes! And I might just watch O'Reilly to see that happen.

People who are sociopaths, as I believe Mr. Devlin to be, are master manipulators. Who knows what he put Shawn through? I pray for healing for both boys.

It's brave of him to bring that out, in this manner and about this boy.

Wow. That's a nasty slice of life I wish I didn't have to know, much less the victim. BTTT for truth.

String 'em (the proven guilty) up from the highest tree at the earliest possible convenience.

Mr. Reagan definitely should go on O'Reilly and tell ol' Bill to SHUT UP. That is, if he is willing to put himself through the pain that talking about his own abuse would certainly cause -- and he is perfectly within his rights to avoid that pain. (Writing about it is probably easier than talking on national TV about it.)

After that bastard raped me the first time, I would have run away and taken some of his *personal items* with me. My shame would turn into all out anger.

I wish he would. The other night, O'R was calling people who disagreed with him the "far left"--but I'm not at all "left" and I think he's wrong about this lad.

If you were an 80 pound 11 year old, and if the molester a 200 pound 6 foot hulk, I wouldn't be so sure you'd do anything of the sort.

I had a pretty messed up childhood and yes, that's probably what I would have done.

Adults forget how deeply young people feel shame. They also don't have the perspective to realize that everyone messes up sometimes, so they feel like they're beyond redemption. Many of us might be able to relate feelings of shame for our youthful behavior. I'm just talking about normal youthful rebellion- not abuse. I remember feeling like my parents would hate me if they know the "real me."

Now, I realize that I probably did the same kind of stuff they did when they were young and they would have loved me just the same. I tell my kids I'd love them no matter what and I understand they make mistakes, like we all do. That does help keep lines of communication open. You just have to also let them see you strive to constantly improve your own flawed personality and they'll try to do the same.

It's also possible that Shawn saw or knew of the murder of Devlin's previous victim, a boy who looked much like Shawn. That would ensure obedience too.

There's plenty of work for him here on FR. The despicable "tsk tsk, he had an earring, I don't need to know any more" cretins were in full voice within minutes of seeing Shawn's pre-kidnapping picture.

Thanks for posting this. A real eye opener. My heart and prayers are with those 2 boys and to all other victims of abuse.

You have to be careful when you post stuff like that, so people don't misunderstand. Your post makes it seem like it has been an established fact that Devlin was responsible for the disappearance of a boy who looked like Shawn. We don't know that to be the case yet. It certainly seems possible, but you don't want to unintentionally spread misinformation.
