Might have meant to take over the mission that the Stennis has been on. Just guessing, though.

Download The U.S.S. Ronald Reagan (anthem), in MP3 format.  This was composed by Dr. Robert Frank for the crew of the USS Ronald Reagan (CVN-76) featuring Erick Reich, tenor.

You have to go to photobucket.com and establish an account. Once established you begin accumulating pictures in your various photo albums. When you want to use a picture, you click on the HTML tag, right click, copy, and then paste on the freerepublic post.

Does the Reagan have a nickname? You know, like the Connie, the Indie, etc.

I believe she is called "the Ronnie".

"Would that make three carrier groups over there? What in the world is Bush planning?"

Humanitarian mission. To free the Iranians from a lunatic leader who wants to rain nukes on Israel and destabalize the middle east.

This is probably a regular deployment, and they'll be in the Indian Ocean in a few weeks. They don't need to go into the Gulf to hit Iran, and they probably wouldn't want to.

They just returned from deployment last July. Deploying again after only 6 months at home? Something ain't right.

It's called diplomacy. :)

First thing you need to do is set up the proper environment for talks to be productive.

If talks still fail, then you need to modify the environment further.

I like the symbolism.

It was the mere threat represented by Ronald Reagan becoming the commander in chief that caused Iran to release the hostages in the Iranian Hostage Crisis, on the day if Reagan's inauguration a mere 20 minutes after his inaugural address.

Sending the USS Ronald Reagan to the Gulf to deal with Iran seems appropriate.
