A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Welcome to TGIF at the Finest!   We hope you've been having as much fun as we have with our essays and/or spotlight on various FReepers. From the beginning, we've been kicking back on Saturdays and Sundays and simply reviewing the features of the week; our weekend threads now start on Friday and continue through Sunday. If you missed seeing any of this week's threads and want to say hello there now, just click on the link for that particular day. If you'd like to drop in and out of this thread today through Sunday, please feel free to do that also. One of us will try to be around to see the welcome mat is still out, put the coffee pot on, and maybe even bring fresh flowers for the table. : )

Opinions by our own 'King of Ping'
Every Thursday at the Finest
The guy's good, folks!

"Wear Red" Friday
You will soon see a lot of people wearing Red on Fridays. Here's why..... The Americans, who support our troops, are the silent majority. We are not "organized" to reflect who we are, or to reflect what our opinions are. Many Americans, like yourself, and all their friends, simply want to recognize that Americans support our troops. Our idea of showing our solidarity and support for our troops is starting Friday and continuing on each and every Friday, until this is over, that every red-blooded American who supports our young men and women, WEAR SOMETHING RED.

Word of mouth, press, TV -- let's see if we can make the United States, on any given Friday, a sea of red much like a home football game at a University. If every one of our memberships share this with other acquaintances, fellow workers, friends, and neighbors, I guarantee that it will not be long before the USA will be covered in RED - and make our troops know there are many people thinking of their well-being. You will feel better all day Friday when you wear Red! So let's get the word out and lead by example; wear RED on Fridays.

SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE. FOR US, THEIR BLOOD RUNS RED!! GOD BLESS AMERICA.
I received this in my email June 10th, 2006 - the author is unknown.
I am wearing red today and every Friday ~ Billie

Hi Aqua
Awesome. Thank You so much for the ping. It does make me proud. I'm so thankful we are blessed by heroes like Brian Chontosh

Also makes me glad I have not watched the network news in years.;)

You were right: it did make me proud! Proud of our Armed forces, the Marines, USMC Captain Brian Chontosh in particular, you for sharing it, FR as the place to share it, and America our great nation, the most free, the most resourceful on earth - where else can a humongous machineworks like The Mainstream Media fail to do its job and have everyday joes, just your run-of-the-mill average man-on-the-street American pick up the slack?!

Good Morning .30Carbine
How are you today?

It's nice not watching any MSM bolgna. I just can't do it. They use to make my blood boil. I read here and other places. I read so much good news about our Troops each day. Sandrat's posts keep me sane. :)

A very healthy thing you're doing.
I look in on them too often to see what they're up to and it's a nightmare.

It's so sad. I can't believe them. It is a nightmare. I say prayers all the time that somehow this will change. I'm so grateful for FR and the Internet.

Thanks for informing us of this. That just shows what kind of people this country voted for in the last election. Just can't stand to look at Pelosi! Hope they fall flat on their faces!

Gosh, I just turned and read this. Like we say, you will never hear anything good about our soldiers. I wonder if they hate America sometimes. The Media has so much power I think, that they can cause us to lose a war or win a war. I also believe the reason so many countries hate us is because the Media have given them reason because they themselves hate this country and especially President Bush. It is so depressing. Thanks for posting this article for all of us.

FRiends, I miss you... was too busy to post on this thread yesterday, and today I do not feel good. I'll be okay after some rest. It's either something I ate or a lil' bug of sorts. But God has built in healing power into my body, so I'll sign off for now and see y'all later when I feel better.

Take care, everyone!

/take care of yourself sweetie.

Since Rush plugged it, I have been taking Z-cam anytime I feel something "coming on". it is like a big cotton swab with medicated "goo" on it. Put in both nostrils. This it is a mixutre of the zinc, c & echnecia which we can take orally but somehow it is absorbed quicker & more efficient in use this way from what I have read

Hubble Space photograph.

Starry Night, so named because it reminded astronomers of the Van Gogh painting. It is a halo of light around a star in the Milky Way
