Russia to take decisive steps against Estonia ·

Russian Duma wants Moscow to take decisive steps if Tallin begins to dismantle a monument to the 50,000 Soviet soldiers who died fighting the Germans in World War II, euronews informed.
Russias Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said: _As far as we are concerned, this is akin to blasphemy.
He added that Tallinns move was dictated by motives that have nothing in common with the necessity to learn lessons from the past and build a unified Europe without any borders.
Tallin says the monument, dating from 1947, has become a focus for public discontent and demonstrations. For many Estonians it is a reminder of their loss of independence after the Russian occupation of 1940. The authorities say they want to move it to a more secure site.

Putin's Russia thinks it is an act of war for the Estonians to remove a symbol of Soviet imperialism?

A more secure location? No one is going to steal anything from the garbage dump. How about there?

What I want to know is where are all the estonian makarov pistols they got rid of because they were an ugly reminder to thier military that the soviets ruled them? They have to be somewhere. I want my Estonian Mak!
I hope they arent being destroyed!

OK, now how can tearing down a monument erected by people who didn't believe in religion be blasphemy?

Will they want to intervene if the people of Rzeczow decide to take down the "pincer of doom?"

Wow... just wow.
Russia is getting ridiculous. They want to be a superpower, a major player in world politics, but instead of focusing on real issues, they get all excited about some statue in Estonia.
How pathetic.

It's typical for them.
Take a look at this story from July 31, 2005.
http://www.polskieradio.pl/polonia/article.asp?tId=25736&j=2
Can you imagine President Bush giving a formal statement and demanding official apologies from authorities of any country in such a case of a criminal act against some American teenagers abroad???
And they want to be superpower (LOL!)
BTW - the reaction of Polish authorities to that act was this:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1544060/posts
Whereas Russian reaction were 4 Poles, who had been severely beaten up in Moscow by the "unknown perpetrators" within the week following July 31, 2005 - as an act of revenge.
Such a country. A superpower, if anybody was asking (sarcasm)
