He had it called back, so statisticly you are correct but to be fair I have to give it to him.

Besides he sucked so bad the rest of the game he needs something to hang his hat on.

Yeah, that's some real interesting stuff...by the way did you know Tom is now dating Gisele Bundchen? Who is Goober linked to?

According to the game stats page at NFL.com Merriman had 1 sack, that might have been achieved as two "half sacks" (ie helping somebody else get a sack), but the official stats say he did participate, either solo or with help, in at least one sack.

Well, that may or may not be true; but I think the Colts D has a major chip on their shoulder.

They've had it with the local and national press calling them the worst. They're out for blood I tell ya.

Hey I just looked it up and they did give him a sack so I'm wrong.

Besides he sucked so bad the rest of the game he needs something to hang his hat on.

You got that right.

I'm not a Raiders' fan.

How am I wrong? When had the tuck rule ever before been cited in the NFL? When?

New Limeys are so classy. No wonder you don't mind the Faustian bargain that Brady made. I wonder what he has to do when it comes due...

The stats show him with a whopping two tackles and one sack. Clearly he overachieved in Sunday's game.

Perhaps his posturing and spouting off all week weakened him, hence the abysmal performance.

Your right, I just checked.

My bad.

The point is that the Globe checked and high-lighted metro-boy as a slacker. They did the research, printed what they found and it went unchallenged. You saying that lots of guys give without fanfare may be so but the research shows that your hero isn't one of them.

Goober is linked to his wife Ashley whom he met his first year at Tenn., quite a fine looking woman too.

I am not a Raiders fan, and I have been amazed at what the Pats have accomplsihed with their talent. I believe their front office is terrible at people relations, not necessarily personnel management, but people management they are perceived to screw people and end relationships in the worst possible way, making everyone mad about it, which amazes me even more because they often start out the year with a bad atmosphere in the locker room and just keep winning.

The tuck rule, I believe the ball had reached Brday's left hand when Woodson knocks it out, watch the replay from the left side and a bit to the rear. I believe you see Brady's hand move as the ball contacts it, and then Woodson hits Brady's arm and knocks it out, IMO fumble. You have your take I have mine, it will be debated for a while longer. Regardless I do not believe there was incontrovertible photo evidence to overturn the call on the field, and that is my main headache.
Frankly if the Rams had just played their game rather than sucking in the offense like they did against the Bucs in the Championship game and the Pats in the SB it may not have mattered, but that's why they strap 'em and play the game.
Enjoy Sunday, it ought to be a great game.

Of course there's a reason they were being called the worst, they were (at least by most ways of slicing up the stats). The question becomes how long can having a chip on your shoulder cover for whatever was wrong with the defense that made them so bad, historically the answer to that question is 2 games but not 3. Being out for blood isn't always enough, I think most defenses are out for blood most days, you have to have the combination of abilities and gameplan to get that blood.

Even with bad officiating, the Chargers owned the Pats, but ultimately beat themselves.

Well those last two qualities of course, but there's one other, because they have had the abilities and the gameplan, but they haven't been executing them.

Fundamentals such as tackling, have been extremely poor. Don't know why, maybe it was just to try and limit injuries (and to be fair, they have been hit with some major ones, especially on D), or I don't know what.

OF course, maybe it was all a Strategeric Dungy rope-a-dope to lull the other teams into a false sense of security regarding our D. :-))
