I hope these men are exhonerated. They are operating in a theatre of war, not a peace-keeping mission! Mistakes are likely to be made at times. It seems like the media smell blood with this one and it would play into their twisted thinking that it's "All Bush's fault!", anyway! Good grief...will these guys get a chance at having a fair trial?

will these guys get a chance at having a fair trial? The method in the Hamdania case was to pile on pressure and get plea deals. That way, a trial could be avoided altogether. Few corporals or sergeants have the resources needed to put on a rigorous defense or get the best counsel. Fortunately, some of the families of the Haditha Marines have been willing to sell their homes and hire first-class lawyers. We have to hope it makes a difference and that justice will prevail.

Thats really sad that they have to do that. I normally support the President but shame on Bush for letting this stuff happen.
Is there a defense fund set up for these guys?

There are two overall defense funds at the moment for servicemen charged as a result of the service in Iraq.
The Warrior Fund is run by Tim Harrington, a retired Marine and one hell of a man. For donations to the Warrior Fund, click at the link. You can specify a donation to the Haditha Marines.
A second fund is headed up by Judge Victor Ramirez, near Pendleton in California. It is Iraq Marine Legal Defense Fund, Inc.. For the address, go to Defend Our Marines. If you send a check, write "Haditha Marines" on the memo line, if that is your preference.
In addition to these funds, an individual fund has been established for Lance Cpl. Stephen B. Tatum of the Haditha Marines. Oklahoma Freepers may want to support one of their own. You will find a pdf file with a contribution form at the Defend Our Marines link.
If you have no money, and still want to help, we need to people to contact news programs and newspapers to get this story out!

Red THANK YOU for posting this..
Looks like I got more writin to do!
To: RedRover
Yeah that is what I was thinking too.
To: RedRover
"What the NCIS has done in their investigation findings, and what the Post has done in accepting those findings, is to portray this sequence of events in the worst possible light, to implicate the Marines to the greatest extent possible."
This is precisely what I stated when this 'report' came out recently. The reporting on this case is blatantly biased against the Marines and has been since day one. The anti-military media is determined to try and convict these Marines in the press, and that is no surprise.
Innocent until proved guilty.
