I hope these men are exhonerated. They are operating in a theatre of war, not a peace-keeping mission! Mistakes are likely to be made at times. It seems like the media smell blood with this one and it would play into their twisted thinking that it's "All Bush's fault!", anyway! Good grief...will these guys get a chance at having a fair trial?

"What the NCIS has done in their investigation findings, and what the Post has done in accepting those findings, is to portray this sequence of events in the worst possible light, to implicate the Marines to the greatest extent possible."

This is precisely what I stated when this 'report' came out recently. The reporting on this case is blatantly biased against the Marines and has been since day one. The anti-military media is determined to try and convict these Marines in the press, and that is no surprise.

Innocent until proved guilty.

Every single one of these guys should walk free. This is beyond idiotic to prosecute them for collateral deaths during a firefight.

Sgt. Wuterich and his squad ... were under insurgent fire in a carefully planned ambush and the situation was chaotic.

The NCIS report ignores this fact, giving the impression that the death of the men from the taxi took place as an isolated incident instead of having occurred when the Marines were engaged in a firefight with insurgent ambushers. The killing of the men did not occur in a vacuum, but in the midst of an ambush involving sustained enemy fire.

There is a VERY GOOD REASON NCIS ignored the facts:

Aired May 19, 2006:
MURTHA:

*** "When this thing's all over, you're going to see exactly what I've said to be true." ***

That, there was an IED attack, it killed one marine, and then they overreacted and killed a number of civilians without anybody firing at them.

That's what you're going to find out.

THEY HAD THEIR ORDERS!!!

Marines familiar with the case told NewsMax that the government knows it cannot sustain murder charges in the case of the civilians in the two houses and having understood that, later focused on the taxi incident where the only so-called evidence are photos of the dead passengers and confusing testimony coerced from some of those present.

WOW!!!

By the way, this kind of sick railroad job on these Marines is exactly what can be expected when scumbag liberal Democrat lawyers (aka, "JAG") are put in charge of a war, from doling out cash to "victimized civilians" to writing "rules of engagement".

What the he!! is wrong with our CiC and why won't he pull his head out of his behind and DO something about this travesty?

Newsmax is referring to the second article WAPost published.

The 1st one had some inconsistancies with it, including this description of what happened to the men in the Taxi;

"According to Fahmi, the young men and their driver turned onto the street and saw the wrecked Humvee and the Marines. Khidher threw the car into reverse, trying to back away at full speed, Fahmi said, and the Marines opened fire from about 30 yards away, killing all the men inside the taxi"
