A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

A Little Kid Humor
JohnHuang2 is taking the week off and we thought it a perfect opportunity to take a break from politics and enjoy a little "kid" humor. ENJOY!
two mischievous brothers
Two brothers, about 8 and 10 years old, were exceedingly mischievous. Whatever went wrong in the neighborhood, it usually turned out they had a hand in it.
Their parents were at their wits' end trying to control them, so hearing about a priest nearby who worked with delinquent boys, the mother suggested to the father that they ask the priest to talk with the boys.
The father replied, "Sure, do that before I kill them!"
The mother went to the priest and made her request. He agreed, but said he wanted to see the younger boy first and alone. So the mother sent him to the priest.
The priest sat the boy down across a huge, impressive desk he sat behind. For about five minutes they just sat and stared at each other. Finally, the priest pointed his forefinger at the boy and asked, "Where is God?"
The boy looked under the desk, in the corners of the room, all around, but said nothing.
Again, louder, the priest pointed at the boy and asked, "Where is God?"
Again the boy looked all around but said nothing. A third time, in a louder, firmer voice, the priest leaned far across the desk and put his forefinger almost to the boy's nose, and asked, "Where is God?"
The boy panicked and ran all the way home. Finding his older brother, he dragged him upstairs to their room and into the closet, where they usually plotted their mischief.
He finally said, "We are in BIIIIG trouble."
The older boy asked, "What do you mean, BIIIIG trouble?"
His brother replied, "God is missing and they think we did it!"
praying at bed time
Two young boys were spending the night at their grandparents.
At bedtime, the two boys kneeled down beside their beds to say their prayers. Suddenly, the youngest boy began praying at the top of his lungs, "I PRAY FOR A NEW BICYCLE. I PRAY FOR A NEW NINTENDO. I PRAY FOR A NEW VCR..."
His older brother leaned over, nudged his younger brother, and said, "Why are you shouting your prayers? God isn't deaf."
The little brother replied, "No, but Grandma is!"
letter to GOD
A Little boy wrote a letter to God, asking him for $100.
He addressed the envelope "God", put his return address on it, and dropped it in the corner mailbox.
The postmaster thought this was such a nice gesture from a young child and decided to sent this letter on to President.
President was so touched by the little boy's sincerity that he told his secretary to send the boy $5.
Upon receiving the money, the boy wrote the following thank you letter:
"Dear God- Thank you for the money. I noticed you sent it through Washington D.C. and of course, they have deducted $95. Love, Joey"
Have a GREAT Thursday...feel free to share special stories AND pictures of the little ones in your life ...and thanks for stopping in at the FINEST!

Great thread and Pledge, dutchess! Unfortunately, my own kids' humor is a little too gross and disgusting for this forum, so I'll have to content myself with reading about other kids' humor. :)

You And Your Possessions
READ:
Matthew 19:16-26It is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 19:23
Six armed gunmen broke into the deposit boxes in a London bank and stole valuables worth more than $7 million. One woman, whose jewelry was appraised at $500,000, wailed, Everything I had was in there. My whole life was in that box.
Some people have taken foolish risks to cling to their riches. They have died rushing into burning houses or were killed because they stubbornly resisted armed robbers. Apparently they felt that without their material possessions life would not be worthwhile. Others, when they lose their wealth, slip into despair, even to the point of suicide.
The greatest danger in becoming too closely identified with our possessions lies in the spiritual area of life. An unhealthy attachment to material things can keep an unsaved person from turning to Christ and prevent a believer from living for Him. The story of the rich young ruler forcefully illustrates this truth. Jesus words You cannot serve God and [money] (Matt. 6:24) certainly apply to us all.
Keep a wide gulf between yourself and your possessions. It will spare you many heartaches. If you are not a believer in Christ, dont make the mistake of the rich young ruler. It will cost you your soul.
The riches of this world are vain,
They vanish in a day;
But sweet the treasures of Gods love
They never pass away! Bosch
To be rich in God is better than to be rich in goods!

Wow, Sistah... what a beautiful & bright way to start today (which is overcast, cold & dreary here ...as I am sure there)
AND boy or boy did you fool me~ I was expecting a "pet day" and thinking about getting some pet pix from yesterday's outing ready to post.
Thank you. Will have to see what I can find & contribute. Right now I cannot open/use my explorer (NOT INTERNET, the computer file cabinet one) for some reason & so can't pull out any archives.
