STROUDSBURG, Pa. (AP) - "Goodfellas" actor Paul Sorvino pulled a gun on his daughter's ex-boyfriend after the man pounded on her hotel door and made threats, the daughter testified Tuesday.
"He got in my father's face and said, 'Go ahead, Paul, shoot, I ain't done nothing wrong,'" Amanda Sorvino, 36, told a Monroe County judge. The judge granted her request for a protection-from-abuse order against Daniel Snee, 21.
Amanda Sorvino testified Snee threatened to kill her at a hotel Jan. 3 in Stowe, Vt.; she said she locked herself in the bathroom and called both police and her father. Her 67-year-old father showed up before police, she testified. When police arrived, the young man was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, she said.
Sorvino said that she met Snee when he was hired to care for her horses and that they began dating, but that the relationship soured. She said he then began threatening her, and her father "if he ever got in the way."
Sorvino testified that although the threat happened in another state, she wanted a court order that would protect her at another home she has in Monroe County. The order lasts for three years.
Snee could not be reached for comment because he was jailed in Vermont, it was not immediately clear if he has lawyer.
Paul Sorvino, the star of 1982's "That Championship Season," did not accompany his daughter to court Tuesday. His screen credits also include roles in "Goodfellas" and "The Cooler."
He is also the father of Mira Sorvino, who won an Oscar for her role in Woody Allen's 1995 comedy "Mighty Aphrodite."
Same thing a 21 year old girl has to offer a man 15 or more years her senior.
I was saying SHE was the one who made the mistake -- not him.
Paulie didn't move very fast but that's only because Paulie didn't have to move for anybody."
That "protection-from-abuse" order will look real nice next to her obituary. A reliable gun, along with the training and will to use it, on the other hand, will help keep her alive.

You're kidding, right?
I have no idea what he has to do with this thread, but I do thank you for posting that picture....
Got a larger version??? ;-)
maybe she was looking for stamina?
He's a pro-gun advocate.
I don't know about his politics beyond that.
He's a status symbol for a 30 something actress. Right there with a rat dog, and third world adopted baby.
I think the question was asked more in the realm of can you really believe this?
As in how stupid to follow that singular track.
"So what? Tommy's a bad kid. Whaddya want me to do? Shoot 'im"?
This was a quote from Malcolm Reynolds in "Firefly" -- specifically from the episode "Our Mrs. Reynolds". So I posted a pic of Captain Reynolds in reply to the the quote.
Mira is married to a much younger guy, like 25 to her 39, so maybe it runs in the family...
Or maybe she has a reverse Oedipus complex or something.
Ohhhhhhhh, she's purdy
Hi Wolfie,
Years ago I heard the "May-December" relationship explained like this:
In most cases, May is a young, attractive female. December, in most cases, is the older, "wiser" and wealthy male. When asked what December saw in May, December responded, "Youth, vitality and beauty". When asked what May saw in December, May responded, "Christmas".
