President Bush has proclaimed today (Tuesday January 16th) as "Religious Freedom Day." In the presidential proclamation, Bush said today commemorates the passage of the 1786 Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom, which was written by Thomas Jefferson, and to celebrate the First Amendment's protection of the right to worship freely.
The proclamation notes that people in other parts of the world don't enjoy the same liberty, and many face religious persecution. Bush calls the freedom of worship" a gift from the Almighty", and he says the United States, quote, "Must continue to promote the importance of religious freedom at home and abroad."
QUOTE OF THE DAY:
President Bush Meets with United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon
The Oval Office
PRESIDENT BUSH: Mr. Secretary General, welcome. The last time I visited with you in this Oval Office, you were the Foreign Minister of an important country. Now you come representing the United Nations, and I welcome you. Thank you for your willingness to serve. Thank you for this very important discussion we just had. I appreciate so very much how you opened up the discussion with a strong commitment to democracy and freedom. And the United States is willing -- wants to work with the United Nations to achieve a peace through the spread of freedom.

Hiya, Justa. Great photo of President Bush and you're doing a great job.
Ping ya'll. :-)
I had the honor and privilege to finally meet Chad Friday night. I had met his mom and sister several weeks ago when they first arrived at Walter Reed.
Chad is breaking all records with his physical therapy and healing process. He was awaiting the arrival of his girlfriend (a real beauty, I might add) and was doing wheelies in his wheelchair as he stared at the door.
Chad was so excited to have the opportunity to see the President again. He could hardly believe that President Bush would remember the promise he made to Chad a couple of weeks ago.
His mom was in a panic over what to wear. When she packed to come to DC, she was not thinking about clothing. They were all very excited to be at the White House with the President
That wonderful polished table I just cannot resist posting photos with it in
I didn't intend to be first, so you have NO excuse...lol.
