"How much longer? I hear someone," says the nervous terrorist with a heavy Middle Eastern accent, just before U.S. agents storm a warehouse where a nuclear device is being assembled. Confusion reigns, drama builds, the device is detonated and a mushroom cloud looms over Los Angeles. Such is primetime television in the age of terrorism, or as some critics charge, has "24" gone too far?
"It's the closest television comes to roller coasters," said David Bianculli, television critic for the New York Daily News. "It works well dramatically, and as far as feeding fears, that's what '24' is all about."
Sut Jhally, co-producer and co-director of the film "Hijacking Catastrophe," says the dramatic action in the show creates a dangerous climate in which the public loses some of its perspective on what's real and what's not. Of course that may be a minority opinion given the show's enormous popularity.

"As a non-watcher of this show, what did the US do after LA was bombed? Or was it the end of the episode?"
End of show. We will have to find out next week. You really should start watching the show. I did not watch at first and ended up getting the DVD from a movie rental store and man was I hooked. The only advice I would give you is that if you start watching from the beginning MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE NOTHING ELSE TO DO. lol. You will be hooked!!!!! I never thought I would like the show. The only reason I finally broke down is because a friend of mind just said give it a try and I finally did just that and am so glad that I did. I watched four seasons in a month!!! lol.
I was surprised that they let him go that way. Well nobody survives long on this show anyway. I think only Jack is from the beginning and Chloe and Buchanan are the only ones really to last longer than a season except for the new President. Is the Chief of Staff gone? I have not seen that guy this season.

Yep. Of course, I'd blame Tom Clancy first.
I just read a book first published in 1987 that had 4 commercial airplanes attack an american space launch facility.
I would say that the idea has been around a while.
No comment is needed. The guy's a protoweenie.
Since the left is condemning 24, I'll watch it from now on.
It is hard to argue with this ...
If you buy 24 on DVD [I do] they have a "extra feature" wherein the cast, the writers, an audience in Santa Monica and others discuss 24, Republicanism and the use of torture in 24.
It was interesting.
Mike Novack? Likely moved on.
But they have been known to bring people back in mid-season.
Well in the 24 White House, they were watching CN3- the Hollywood version of CNN. But the writer failed to mention that as well.
He also appeared on L&O:SVU last night; his character was seriously deranged.
I know two muslims reasonably well (worked with one for half a year, the other for seven years). One of them is very trustworthy, having been brought up by old-school immigrant parents who appreciate this country for what it is (they were expelled from Uganda by Idi Amin). The other was harder to read; he reminded me of the Italian kids who would vehemently deny the existence of the Mafia. I had no reason to believe that he was directly involved with radicals or even had direct knowledge, but got the distinct impression that he didn't want to know.
Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle I believe. Some other National Lampoon movie is his newest film.
Right now the media silence is deafening. The MSM here were falling all over each other to trumpet the ratings of last week's debut the morning after it aired, but now two days after the second episode was broadcast I still haven't seen the numbers anywhere. Even without going up against 24 the show didn't stand a chance because everyone who saw the first episode concluded that it was completely devoid of writing, acting and humour.
Not necessarily. There are saner muslim lobby groups out there but they get virtually no coverage in the MSM. Compare out the Canadian Muslim Congress to CAIR's Canadian arm and you'll see quite a difference.
ABDNC is mad that FOX has a show that people actually watch. Unlike their drek.
Pray for W and Our Troops
If I remember correctly, Ford has a sizable stake in VW...which figures since VW was started by Hitler and Henry Ford was a big anti-semite.
