KUWAIT CITY: Washington will launch a military strike on Iran before April 2007, say sources. The attack will be launched from the sea and Patriot missiles will guard all oil-producing countries in the region, they add. Recent statements emanating from the United States indicate the Bush administrations new strategy for Iraq doesnt include any proposal to make a compromise or negotiate with Syria or Iran. A reliable source said President Bush recently held a meeting with Vice President Dick Cheney, Defense Secretary Robert Gates, Secretary of State Dr Condoleezza Rice and other assistants in the White House where they discussed the plan to attack Iran in minute detail.
According to the source, Vice President Dick Cheney highlighted the threat posed by Iran to not only Saudi Arabia but the whole region. Tehran is not playing politics. Iranian leaders are using their countrys religious influence to support the aggressive regimes ambition to expand, the source quoted Dick Cheney as saying. Indicating participants of the meeting agreed to impose restrictions on the ambitions of Iranian regime before April 2007 without exposing other countries in the region to any danger, the source said they have chosen April as British Prime Minister Tony Blair has said it will be the last month in office for him. The United States has to take action against Iran and Syria before April 2007.
Claiming the attack will be launched from the sea and not from any country in the region, he said the US and its allies will target the oil installations and nuclear facilities of Iran ensuring there is no environmental catastrophe or after effects. Already the US has started sending its warships to the Gulf and the build-up will continue until Washington has the required number by the end of this month, the source said. US forces in Iraq and other countries in the region will be protected against any Iranian missile attack by an advanced Patriot missile system.
He went on to say although US Defense Secretary Robert Gates and Secretary of State Dr Condoleezza Rice suggested postponing the attack, President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney insisted on attacking Tehran without any negotiations based on the lesson they learnt in Iraq recently. The Bush administration believes attacking Iran will create a new power balance in the region, calm down the situation in Iraq and pave the way for their democratic project, which had to be suspended due to the interference of Tehran and Damascus in Iraq, he continued. The attack on Iran will weaken the Syrian regime, which will eventually fade away, the source said.
And, if I could add to your idea. President Bush and Chaney doesn't have to worry about loosing Republican support, half of the RINOS have already deserted them. They are on their own, who gives a big rats A**?/ do what's gotta be done.
Excuse my graphic visual but this zit seems to be coming to a head.
Given. But from another angle, why do you think there are so damn many Americans, not just anti-Americans, that subscribe to this "tied down" in Iraq thinking?
Sure the press repeat it ad nauseum, but c'mon! The Navy and the Airforce aren't spending a whole bunch of resources in Baghdad. The entire B2 wing is just playing cards at the officers club and submariners are out chasing whales around the globe.
Are we intentionally letting them be downplayed, or what?
Now THAT would be the excuse Bush needs. Which is why Iran hasn't done it. When they do, you can bet their nukes are ready.
Another thought. This article smells like Debkaka to me, but still, I am aware that PAC-3 production has been in high gear, and I wonder if there's not a grain of truth to that end of the story....
...in that we're cranking out anti-missile batteries for the oil producers to mitigate Iran in the short term, or at least faster than they can develop an offensive capability, and that this is the strategy playing out right now.
.....why can't we do it now......
1. he is aq head of state, not a military commander
2. we are not at war
3. it would place W and every other leader at risk.
It has jurisdiction over the President, although its Constitutionality has never been tested in a Court. He can do what he likes for 90 days without consulting anyone, least of all the countries that are backing an enemy nation.

Seems like a good time to test some of our new laser weapon technology...probably wouldn't leave any finger prints either...
Perhaps we are.
Confusion to your enemies and all that. Let 'em think we're tied down and then smack the living hell out of 'em. I've got a feeling that most of our Boomers are loaded to the gills with conventional Tomahawks right now.

Then tell me that the end game is not IraqIranistan.
BUMP
Again, you're daydreaming. Plus it would be a stupid thing to do. Like it or not, He has to play politics with our "Allies" regardless of what you think of them. If and when Bush can get them all to agree with a deal to divide up the spoils (Iran) then it will be bombed. In regards to people thinking our troops are stretched thin, they only focus on Iraq, and count heads in the pacific/SK. They completely ignore assets sitting in all those "stans". Iran is basically surrounded. With the navy clogging up the gulf, There is plenty of power there to deal with Iran, and then some. It's not numbers that is a problem. It's all ther politiking going on, and will go on until there's nothing left to talk about.
We're there my friend. We're there.

PAC-3,
The 3rd Battalion, 43rd Air Defense Artillery, 11th ADA will be the first Patriot Missile unit to deploy to the Middle East since the leadup to the war in Iraq in 2002.
"All of the information we have available indicates there will be no Patriot elements physically in Iraq," Offutt said.
Apparently it's a different battery than this one.
Hope these guys have had plenty more training!
I doubt that. He wants to bleed the "monster America" economically slowly. (jmo)
I wish. Getting closer maybe. Bush has singled than he's not putting up with Iran anymore, so we'll see. I bet we will see the rhetoric in the UN over Iran increase this week. Maybe another ultimatum directed at Syria as well. Something will happen this year, one way or another. Maybe another count down, just like Saddam got. But I bet Iran chickens out at the last moment.
Columbia's drug cartel could take Hugo out.
Venezuelans are flooding into south Florida, again. chavez will be stuck with a nation of indians.
