Jan. 12, 2007— District Attorney Mike Nifong has requested that he have himself removed from prosecuting the Duke Lacrosse rape investigation, ABC News has learned.
Put his request on national television, and repeat it around the hour all day long for weeks, like the original story was.
Even that wouldn't even out the destruction he has caused.
I can`t beleive how much this case is like the Oliver Janovic case from about 5 years ago. Same thing, college student, habitual lying victim (whose own family said she was a nut who did this all the time), and a prosecutor (Linda Fairstein) whose only interest was herself. I think the only difference between the Duke case and Janovic case was Janovic spent quite some time in jail.
No problem.
Then you will be charged, prosecuted and, hopefully, found guilty.
Then you will be "installed."
Yep! As I posted previously, Nifong and the "accuser" need to share a cell. What he did to those three young men and their families is an abomination!

The new prosecutor should fire all Nifong's underlings and start prosecuting Nifong.
And a whole lot more than the fong's blood. Duke has legal liabilities which might be sufficient to shut the place down, early applications are down 20% and falling, and at least half the problem is Durham itself since NOBODY with any brains or talent would send a kid to ANY school in or near Durham at this point. Duke has to eliminate its own villains, and then move, and they don't have five years to do it.
One of the families mother was quotes as saying, more or less the same thing.

The one crime for which you will ALWAYS be punished in America is embarassing the power structure, and Fong has just done that. He's made the entire NC legal profession look like a clown show, and those guys are pissed, with a capital P.
Seems as if this is a positive development for the defense here.
If this request by Mr. Nifong is granted, can Nifong be put on the witness list for the defense? Nifong apparently is aware of exculpatory evidence(maybe evidence which hasn't yet come forward), getting him on the stand to testify under oath about it could definitely help the lacrosse boys case.
I doubt the criminal case will get to trial. This is a pretty typical prosecution finesse. We saw something similar in the Kobe case a couple of years back. They take credit for 'bringing the criminals to justice', then let somebody else who isn't at risk of being proved a complete idiot at trial dismiss the case. Look for a quiet dismissal shortly after MLK day.
Expert at running away.
He should be out of the case and throw directly into jail. Do not pass GO, do not collect $200.

The verb "Nifong" will probably become a regular part of the English language, like "Boycott" (after a man named Boycott, who was boycotted), "Guillotine," "Quisling," and so on.
E.g. "The Amiraults were allegedly Nifonged by MA prosecutor Scott Harshbarger."
"The Inquisition routinely Nifonged people on charges of heresy so it could confiscate their property."
"Several people were hanged in Salem Massachusetts after being Nifonged on phony charges of witchcraft."
"Medieval witch-hunters made their reputations by Nifonging innocent people."
