Just heard at the top of the hour. Nifong is recusing himself from the Duke Case as prosecutor.
i am laughing my head off bc it does seem like he did not want you to know, down to keeping it off your local news!
Nifong is hoping to head off the impending lawsuits.
Seems to me that somebody is going to be writing these kids some very large checks.
You know, this is truly amazing. The first rule in politics is to end the controversy quickly. NiFong is dragging this out. He is giving himself the Chinese Water Torture.

Personally, I think Drudge should put up your CNN/Clinton story up with 10 sirens... but that's me.
Fox new did not tease it going into a thread about the case.
They are still not reporting this; none of the channels.

Jan. 12, 2007— District Attorney Mike Nifong has requested that he have himself removed from prosecuting the Duke Lacrosse rape investigation, ABC News has learned.
A source close to the investigation said Nifong sent a letter to North Carolina Attorney General Roy Cooper asking his office to assume responsibility of the case.
Three Duke Lacrosse players, Reade Seligmann, Collin Finnerty, and David Evans were indicted in 2006 on charges of rape, sexual assault, and kidnapping.
The rape charges were dropped in December after the accuser could not recall key details of the alleged attack.
Jail for Nifong.

Heck even Lis Whiel [sp?] is dumping on him. No mention of recusal yet. Whiel says if she had done what Nifong did with the DNA evidence she would have been fired.
Doesn't mean his request will be granted.
Well, well, didn't we see this coming? LOL! The Duke rape case is over!
I do think there is something severely mentally wrong with Nifong.
At a certain point even he had to see where this was going yet he continued to drive full speed toward the cliff.
He wants to be rescued..
