DURHAM, N.C. - A Duke University professor resigned from her committee assignments, saying she was upset by the administration's decision to invite two lacrosse players accused of sexual assault back to campus.

"The decision by the university to readmit the students, especially just before a critical judicial decision on the case, is a clear use of corporate power, and a breach, I think, of ethical citizenship," Karla Holloway, an English professor and former dean of Humanities and Social Sciences, wrote to Duke's black faculty caucus.

"Despite our judgments about the prosecutor's own lack of principled conduct, it is not ours to become the judge or subvert the process," she wrote....

Apparently she intends to keep her position as a member of the Spanish Inquisition.

"Scary when you think that these are the people teaching our kids. Run away, witch, we don't need the likes of you poisoning their minds anyway"!

...what's even scarrier, parents who pay and allow for their kids to be taught by someone like this.

Why didn't she resign her professorship and take her show on the road?

So, in her mind, the faculty should presume these kids are guilty (despite the lack of credible evidence) until proven innocent? And this is the 5th highest ranked school in the nation? OOOOOOOkkkkkkk......

Did anyone expect anything else from a token hire?

I imagine you'll have better luck posting the question to admin moderator than to yourself.

I beleieve this is the same professor that wrote an article for the daily newspaper there defending the ad that she and some faculty members had placed.

Being a liberal means never having to say you're sorry.

Do you have a cite for that?

A Duke University professor resigned from her committee assignments..

But did she resign from her job? My guess is no. Big deal, you step down from some dumb committees. The paycheck keeps coming however. How convenient.

Can they fire her? That would be the first step in many needed to even begin to restore Duke's reputation.

This woman appears incapable of critical thinking. She doesn't want to "rush to judgment" on the prosecution's case, but she's staging a meaningless protest over letting the 2 Duke students come back to campus, since she's already judged them guilty of being white and privileged?

She's incapable of discerning that she's the privileged one, allowed to dump her extra work, self-righteously protest the return of the victimized students, and retain her tenured bully pulpit. I can only imagine what sort of real scholars Duke passed over to aquire this race-baiter.

She was probably looking for an excuse to get out of some lousy committee assignments that probably were useless and a waste of time. And voila!

My exact thoughts! Freepers are the best when it comes to the quality of their bovine scatology detectors.
