WASHINGTON, Jan. 11, 2007 President Bush today presented the Medal of Honor, the nations highest decoration, to the family of Marine Cpl. Jason Dunham, who died shielding his fellow Marines from a grenade blast in Iraq in April 2004.
With this medal, we pay tribute to the courage and leadership of a man who represents the best of young Americans, Bush said before presenting the medal to Dunhams family at the White House. |

And Jack Murtha was standing in the crowd - where?
Medal of Honor Awarded to Fallen Marine.
He was too busy being a jerk to Condy and figuring out ways to screw this Marine's brothers and sisters.
The American Military hasnt lost its way since WW2. The men of todays military are every bit as patriotic and courageous as Americans Greatest generation. It is the Politically Correct way in which Americans have to fight which is making hem look bad. War is not a game,it must be fought to win and you win by killing the enemy and anyone who gets in the way. The WW2 generation knew that.
I hope Jason Dunham has a great job guarding the Pearly Gates. I cant think of anyone I would have guarding the Lord's paradise.
I cant think of anyone I would RATHER have guarding the Lord's paradise.
Tell me that POS died, too.
Why would murtha be there ?
I watched that today and ended up sobbing. What a terrific son he was. He used to hand the phone to his Marines when he called home and told his mom "here, he needs to talk to a mom".
"...The insurgent stood up after the blast and was immediately killed by Marine small-arms fire..."
Thank you.
A terrific son, a terrific Marine and a terrific American.
God Bless him and his family.
mark.
We live free because of men like this. I'm eternally thankful for them. God bless their families.
Well said, sir.
Good!
