My Cali, some of you know, was dropped off as a young (under week) old kitten on my doorstep in 1988,
She is the Cali in my name, no not from California, although with a couple inches of snow NOW on the ground & more falling, wish I were living in Calif
She is not doing well. For the past few months mobility was a bit more difficult. I noted her not as balanced & fell now & then. Past few days she seems to have lost use of her hips. Not sure if she has had a stroke. I had one cat years ago that had these symptoms but he was hit by a car. Perhaps one of the dogs in a run thru house stepped on her back?
She pulls herself around like a marine. Still sleeps with me & is on my lap ANYTIME I am at computer, but now I pick her up. She is eating well & taking liquid & grooming so I will be her legs for now
She is well over 18 years old & entitled to old lady symptoms. She has been my warm fuzzy for many years & has traveled with me extensively, gone to beach, hikes, boating, over the years.
I know that I can count on my FReeper Pet Lovin' buddies to keep us in your prayers

I'm so sorry about Cali, Dolly. Bless that sweet little thing, and I hope that she doesn't have a lot of pain. It's always sad to read about our beloved pets when they reach the end of their lives. We never want to let them go - it's hard because they give us so much love and so much joy.

Sorry to hear of Cali's troubles for I know her well; she even eventually permitted me to pet her as I dropped by to help on some outside projects. You are a great "mother" to your pets so I know it's hard to see them pass on... first Oliver, your favorite dog, and now it seems Cali may be getting ready to say farewell. You and she are in my prayers for I remember when my big kitty collapsed beside me as I sat reading in a chair.
