PARIS: Ethiopia’s Prime Minister Meles Zenawi said in an interview published on Tuesday that suspected terrorists from Canada, Britain, Pakistan and elsewhere have been among those taken prisoner or killed in the military operations in Somalia.
Zenawi was quoted by French newspaper LeMonde as saying that he didn’t know the exact number of prisoners in Somalia because it changed constantly. “But many international terrorists are dead in Somalia,” Meles was quoted as saying.
“Photographs have been taken and passports from different countries have been collected. The Kenyans are holding Eritrean and Canadian passport holders. We have injured people coming from Yemen, Pakistan, Sudan, the United Kingdom.”

He says it like it's a bad thing. Dead is good, no matter where they are.
GWB promised a War on Terror, no matter where it leads us. With a little support from his own country, mainly Congress and the mainstream media, maybe we could start to make those who want us all in our graves a little bit afraid. That would also not be a bad thing. It's unfortunate so few over here understand this.
Contrary to liberal opinion, these "insurgents" are not oppressed and deprived.
A lot of them come from places like UK and Canada because that's where the money is, and it takes money to travel to Pakistan for terrorist training and then travel to Somalia to blow people up or cut off their heads.

Zawahiri did call for action in somalia.
That just goes to show how important it is for AQ to have a base of operations.
