My whole family has gone through this norovirus in the last few weeks (four of the five of us in the last five days). I spent last night bouncing between two sick kids (ages 8 and 4)--I was sick last Thursday and am still recovering; our 2 y.o. had it over the weekend and is still recovering. I am a walking zombie, but I digress.
I scrubbed down both bathrooms with bleach water, washed all infected sheets and clothes, and about everything else I can think of just today. I am normally a clean freak (just ask anyone who knows me), so we probably contracted it outside the home. My husband was the first one to get it before Christmas, so he probably incubated it and passed it along, or the rest of us picked it up elsewhere.
It's a nasty virus, but not all of us who are getting live like pigs (maybe the people who started spreading it, but not the infected).
Man, am I tired and cranky, lol.
I use my foot, too, and I'm a guy!.........
It ripped through my daughter last week. She works at the hospital. It hit her hard. We're waiting for the first sign to hit us. I hope we escape it's clutches. Keeping Phenergan on hand just in case. It was the only thing that stopped my daughter's symptoms.
They should make it code to make restroom doors swing both ways..........
My husband and I were visitng our son,daughter-in-law and grandaughter ,in San Clemente, right before Christmas. I woke during the night feeling really awful and within the hour everyone in the house ,except my husband, was horribly sick. The 4 of us had eaten asparagus, hubby despises it. We figured that was the culprit. A neighbor who works at a lab had the leftover asparagus tested. It was fine. Next, all the neighbors were sick. Hubby got sick 3 weeks later.
But most people do spread this from not washing their hands.
Get the paper towel ready, then wash your hands, leave the water running, dry your hands, then use the paper towel to shut off the water.
Wait a minute. . .if we are all doing the upper part of the door push thing. . .then I should start using the door knob again. . .
You use Phenegran too? In a pinch 2 drammamine work ok-ish.
It was a really weird flu, IMO.
I kept thinking to myself, "Come on and let's get this over with," but it just lingered.
And my stomach hasn't HURT like that in years!
Please post the source and cost of these. Thank you.
Did it hit with little to no warning? One of my friends had it and she said she felt fine all day. Then she felt a little nauseated and within an hour she was hurling.
LOL, am I reading a little sarcasm here? Or a little double entendre?
Yes, I got it last spring from a 1 1/2 yr. old granddaughter. Never so sick, horribly ill for a week. Went through the whole family, relatives and friends.
BUSH IS AT IT AGAIN!!
Had this one Christmas about five or six years ago.
Got up, watched the kids open presents, spent the rest of the day curled up in a ball next to the john.
Was fine in about 36 hours.
I am not a germophobe, but I am now very cautious about washing my hands and touching my face.
You don't know how eerie it was to read this. I'm sure you know why. ;-)
I eat dirt and pick my nose a lot. It builds up antibodies for lots of stuff that way. Never get sick, ever.
I recommend it to everyone.
A little bit of both. But it is awkward to have to grab a door handle in a public restroom to exit after you just washed your hands........
