WASHINGTON (AP) --
In a concession to the Senate's new Democratic majority, four of President Bush's appeals court appointees have asked to have their nominations withdrawn, Republican officials said Tuesday.
These officials said that William Haynes, William Myers and Terrence Boyle had all decided to abandon their quest for confirmation. Another nominee, Mike Wallace, let it be known last month that he, too, had asked Bush to withdraw his nomination.

I disagree, and I think this is healthy.
We do have 2 sides here. To one side, politics is just a team sport. They aren't serious about policy. They believes in voting for Rs even when they're liberal. As long as their 'team' wins. Party above policy.
The other side has a vision for how America should be run, and is fighting for that vision. We're serious about policy.
I'd say the single biggest danger any elected govt faces is people becoming blindly loyal to a political party regardless of the party's behavior. That's what we always razz Ds about, after all . . .
I don't think Kasich belongs on your list. I think he opposes the war. Most on your list are great but not electable. Bush 3 would be fine.
It's being a jerk when I post your OWN words back at you?
You're beyond hysterical now.
Actually, there is a perfect way to satisfy the people here that look at a politician's party registration rather than what they believe...Hitliary should just declare herself to be a Republican, then they'd all feel comfortable voting for her, because she'll have an "R" by her name!

These were my words, Howlin?
FGS, were you crying when you posted that? You sound like Anderson Cooper.
Once again, please do not post to me further. We had a fairly civil thread until you came in with your attacks.
OK we'll get on that judicial review thing right away. Snap the hell out of it. Do you think Hilary and a democrat Congress will abolish judicial review?? Oy
Abortion & Traditional Values
1. Banned Partial Birth Abortion by far the most significant roll-back of abortion on demand since Roe v. Wade.
2. Reversed Clinton's move to strike Reagan's anti-abortion Mexico Policy.
3. By Executive Order (EO), reversed Clinton's policy of not requiring parental consent for abortions under the Medical Privacy Act.
4. By EO, prohibited federal funds for international family planning groups that provide abortions and related services.
5. Upheld the ban on abortions at military hospitals.
My representation is a damn liberal because good conservatives like you wouldn't support his opposer because he wasn't PURE ENOUGH for them.
We got Roberts and Alito.
I'm good with that.
So since you lie about me, and are now an obstructionist to trying to fix what is wrong with the GOP, please - continue not to ping me or FYI me. You can continue to working within your ever-shrinking circle of GOP denialists.
Somebody's posting with your nick then.
And I'll post to you any time you post to me, bud, which you just did.
One more time - please stop posting to me.
It all depends on if a person is a conservative first, or a Republican first.
A Republican first will vote for anyone with an "R" by their name, whether it is the tyrannical Mike Bloomberg or the bloated plutocrat Geroge Putaki.
A conservative, on the other hand, will look at someone who wants to ban guns, believes in abortion without restraints, wants to increase government control over our lives, and votes for massive increases in the size and scope of government, and they say "eh, what's the difference?"
I do see what you're saying about all the interlopers, but I look at it from the opposite viewpoint, I see all the conservatives being drowned out by the "moderate" Republicans...

Good post, onyx.
Since you joined just two days ago, you have a limited number of posts to this point for us to go through and get a handle on your thinking. So, I have a question:
What and who is "Our movement"?
Oh - no! That wasn't meant for you!
Yup. Hope those single issue faux conservatives are happy working until really old age. LOL
LOL.
That's a great e-mail, Chena!!
