A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day

Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.

I enjoyed that thread. As one who lived in Houston for a couple years I felt I was almost a Texan~ would have stayed perhaps if Mom hadn't need me. I had a two year contract in
Charleston but felt I wanted to return to Texas afterward

snow is still falling.. I had a nice walk with doggies.. need to bathe, feed mom & pets & get ready for a new Bible Study I am attending tonight. It is in home & part of the new church I have been attending at the movie teacher(one tomorrow afternoon. too..but that is an old one & I will be meeting with the minister there & explaining why I have "jumped ship: more or less to the new church) ..and one in evening which is a OT intense survey at a nearby Congregational church.....I have been going with FReeper Wheelbarrow, who some of you remember as my older WW2 vet friend locally. It is his church & his first Bible Study. (yup at 81...his FIRST STUDY).. I told him I would attend with him.

It's getting done but very slowly. ;) I have a lot of cleaning to do. Former owners did not care for cleaning much. I'll be cleaning and painting for the next 2 months. Then, I'll move more things in from garage. :)

Did you see the most recent alamo movie? about a year or so ago. I liked it.. but like KING KONG...KNEW what would happen but somehow wished it wouldn't

It got a lot of critical complaints but I thought it was a great movie. First I had seen since I was quite young & the Fess Parker, Disney movie was on TV

not sure how far all of you are from San Antonio, but that might be a not to distant future stop for Mark & I. We wouldn't prolly be traveling much other than to Ok City to see my brother , but we might meet him in Dallas instead.

The trips by in large are fast/furious . I like the hotel next to the Alamo.. stayed there when I worked in Houston & visited SA

Maybe all could meet for extended dinner/lunch. Spa treatments etc? of course any one I missed would be welcome, I don't even know where many live

Thanks Gee Bee. I do the wierd threads more or less when you check back. Others do lace & flowers & sweet things.

The sweetest one I did was the fairy one ... and even that one turned out "wierd"

Thanks for posting the Hall of Fame. I was reviewing some of JH2's Posts trying to get familiar with how that's done again. Good news is - I've already got his newest essay for Thursday and will have a few days to get it ready.
