Leading Massachusetts Social Conservatives Endorse Brownback
We know consistent leadership when we see it. For this reason, Senator Brownback is the clear choice.
BOSTON, Ma. U.S. Senator Sam Brownback received endorsements today from key social conservative leaders in Massachusetts. The following individuals announced their strong support of Brownback for President and pledged their help in educating social conservatives around the country that Senator Brownback is the true choice for those who care about the right to life and the sanctity of marriage:
Professor Dwight Duncan of Cambridge, South New England School of Law
Anne Fox of Needham, Past Chairman, Massachusetts Citizens for Life
Linda Kinsey of North Adams, Past Chairman, Berkshire Citizens for Life
Carol McKinley of Pembroke, Founder, Faithful Voice
Christine Milbury of Sharon, Director, Pregnancy Services
Roderick Murphy of Southbridge, Treasurer, Life-Guard PAC
R.T. Neary of Medfield, Past President, Massachusetts Citizens for Life
In announcing their endorsement, Mr. Rod Murphy issued the following statement on behalf of the group:
As residents of Massachusetts and leaders in the ongoing struggle to preserve the institution of marriage and uphold the sanctity of life, we have seen the efforts of the liberal left here in Massachusetts to impose their agenda through judicial mandate. They have been able to impose their liberal agenda on the people because of the failure of our elected officials to stand up and fight.
In order to preserve traditional values and actually win back ground in the ongoing fight for our culture, we need a leader who can articulate and fight for our values with compassion, optimism, and consistency. We know consistent leadership when we see it. For this reason, Senator Brownback is the clear choice.
A successful fundraising day for Romney may be some Bay State consolation though.
Both of them.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the act of publishing verbatim a Brownback press release doesn't quite seem impartial.
Of course, NRO may have already declared who they back. In which case, ignore me.
LOL. Sad but probably true.
Not a huge NR fan myself, but I'm guessing there are more than a few Romney fans in that bunch.
LOL
Smart alec...
Serious question - does Brownback really have a snowball's chance - i.e. given the total lack of name ID, inability to raise major funds early on, etc
Is he the true choice for those who want to secure our borders?
And Brownback's got as much chance of winning a primary, ANY PRIMARY, let alone the nomination, as Elmer Fudd has of actually bagging the "wabbit".
I'm getting my head chewed off for asking somewhat similar questions about Duncan Hunter.

If he can get the majority of the pro-life lobby behind him, then he has a chance to be competitive. It's too early to tell, but he's starting from a deep hole.
Hopefully, they will ALL come down on the side of airtight border security. What they do AFTER that is secondary.
The door is wide open for a staunch conservative to do very well in the primary. Whether Brownback has the $$ and ability to be that guy remains to be seen. Of course, the kind of press he just grabbed per the article shows he is already active.
Here's a list of likelies? posted on another thread.

Ok, where's the list?
John McCain (maybe)
Rudy Giuliani (maybe)
Mitt Romney(?)
Tommy Thompson ( wasting time & money)
Chuck Hagel (maybe) bah
Brownback ( no chance of winning IMO)
Duncan Hunter (maybe)
Who else?
Thanks - from what little I know of the guy he sounds pretty good....
....certainly Bill Clinton was a total unknown early on (but he had the support of many in the lame-stream media to make him into an instant "rock-star")
I think Sam's angling for the Veep position. And if he's selected and the GOP wins in 2008 then he will have had a hand in making history. Kansas will have it's first Democrat senator in over 70 years.
I think Newt will run. As will Colin Powell.
He'll need to be very busy getting his name out there if he wants to have any cash to even attempt this.
Great, they've found somebody who will get creamed in the general election.
I thought the reason Powell didn't run in the past (remember when he was all the rage in '96) was because his wife was manic-depressive and he didn't want to put her through the strain of a campaign?
