Obama's candid book could prove costly

"We were always playing on the white man's court... by the white man's rules," he writes. "If the principal, or the coach, or a teacher... wanted to spit in your face, he could, because he had the power and you didn't.... The only thing you could choose was withdrawal into a smaller and smaller coil of rage.

"And the final irony: Should you refuse this defeat and lash out at your captors... they would have a name for that too. Paranoid. Militant."

Obama has not expressed any regrets for his candor. In a preface to the new edition, he says he would tell the same story now "even if certain passages have proven to be inconvenient politically."

In the book, Obama acknowledges he used cocaine as a high school student but rejected heroin. "Pot had helped, and booze; maybe a little blow when you could afford it. Not smack, though," he says.

In an interview two years ago, Obama said he admitted using drugs because he thought it was important for "young people who are already in circumstances that are far more difficult than mine to know that you can make mistakes and still recover.

Isn't that terrible? What an irresponsible and immoral thing for him to say.

He's messed up. If he didn't look the way he does no one would care what he has to say. He certainly didn't get to where he is today because of his intellect.

But that's not at all what he said - he didn't just say he turned his life around - he basically gives license to go ahead and do the same thing that he did because you can just stop later. Wrong message.

And how often would one of those white people actually spit in the face of a black person? Never.

I will bet that no coach, teacher, or principal ever spat in his face. I will go further and make an educated guess that even if we are only speaking figuratively, a lot more white people in positions of power have "kissed Obama's butt" (figurativly) than ever spat in his face (figuratively). I would go further and suggest that black men or boys probably did spit in his face, literally or figuratively.

"The line is total B.S."

All the better to align with the radical black vote. The party will forgive him, much as the feminists forgave Slick for serial rape.

I swear I once saw his voting record on his official website. I found one in the Wash Times (can't post much from it) and this site, can't vouch for the reliability of it.:

"Does Alabama have a history racial intolerance?"

Apparently not as bad as Hawaii. Unless, by "white man" he meant Japanese.

My issue with Obama is that the guy hasn't accomplished anything, except for giving some speech. BFD!

Not a problem. Most Obama fans don't read books.

re: Doesn't this make his black father, to whom he owes his entire political identity, little more than a sperm donor?

It would seem that way to me!
I also find it curious that Obama's main "qualification" for higher office in the eyes of many is simply the color of his skin. Now on the one hand we are told by liberals that white parents who want to adopt a black child can't possibly accomplish the task of adequately bringing up that child because their own lack of pigmentation renders them incapable of passing on all important black culture to the child. (Many black social workers actually prefer a childhood of foster care for orphaned black children to being adopted by loving non-black couples.) Getting back to Obama, if a black child raised by a white adoptive parents is not “black” enough, having not experienced living in a black culture, why in the world is Obama, raised by a white woman and his white grandparents considered black “enough”? It also seems to me that Obama owes everything he is to his white mother, not to the sperm donor who stuck around for a brief time and then left, not only the family, but the country. But whom does Obama identify with? It is certainly not those who loved him, nurtured him, or provided him with an education at elite schools.

Obama describes a nearly race-blind early childhood. He writes: "That my father looked nothing like the people around me—that he was black as pitch, my mother white as milk—barely registered in my mind."

Hmmmmmm.....how about that, huh?

I love how people of mixed parentage pick and choose to which race they are going to belong at any given moment, depending on which background will benefit them most.

That is one area I like Tiger Woods for. When they tried to make him a black man he pointed out his mother's asian heritage. He didn't let them diss her. Too bad Obama/Osama doesn't have the same respect for his mother's heritage. Tells a lot about him in my book.

Please post all replies coherently if possible.

See if you understand this, your movements are conservative and as a result you are full of it.

Osama..errr I mean Obama, finds playing the Black race card much more productive in politics, than playing the White race card. Osama---I mean Obama is a Democrat after all.

You could have told me I was talking to a 13 year old.
Isn't there an age requirement for posting on the main board? I'll ask the mods if they can set up a junior FR board for you so the adults can have adult conversations.
