In Britain I think that the owner of the dog that attacked yours could be prosecuted for not having it on a lead and certainly for attacking your dog.

The problem of course is that yours is larger and no one would believe it was that way round especially if the smaller dog came off worse and unfortunately you could end up being accused of keeping a dangerous animal and getting issued with an order to have it destroyed which in Britain is virtually impossible to carry out if the owner disputes it.

We have several valid prosecution for keeping dangerous dogs but because the owner has disputed the distrucition notice the dogs remain in one case a child was nearly killed by a pit bull that there was more than one rumour flying around was involved in illegal dog fighting.

It always seems whatever happens the law protects the ones in the wrong.

You know Snugs, that's EXACTLY what the SPCA guy told me! He said that the larger dog in a situation like this usually ends up the bad guy.

Hey, it's all about spin, folks. It's not about truth, justice and the American way. Truth is a victim.

How is Jo-Ann's story not like America's own story, to really stretch it out here?

Yeah, she's big...but she was ATTACKED! Is she not supposed to defend herself?

The SPCA guy was nice but I did, I say modestly, talk his ear off. I sure had some thoughts on the matter.

You know, I am scared out of my mind, what with TWO fights now with Jo-Ann, that much like the Democrats, the world will rise and make Jo-Ann the bad guy when all she did was walk upon a public street.

I fear there could be a plan to paint Jo-Ann as the vicious, uncontrollable dog when, in fact, she is anything but.

Much like America as I see it.

Although I'll allow it's a stretch. The winners today are those who can most effectively "create" their own version of the truth.

I really fear they might demand that Jo-Ann be euthanized as a "vicious" dog.

After all we've seen from the Dems and how they act, does anyone not think this is possible?

fishtalk, you dog may be emitting some vibes...I don't fully understand dog talk.

Our old lab seemed to attract dogs. He was always on leash and the other dogs he attracted were not. He didn't seek out dogs and dogs on leash were easily avoided.

Once a dog came up to him (after I shouted warnings to an owner if one was nearby) they would go the nose to nose thing, Stewart would be wagging his tale vigorously ... not necessarily a sign of good feelings, I learned ... and then he would attack.

Nothing bad ever happened because he was leashed and the other dog could run away.

He was otherwise gentle and loved people.
