German Interior Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble called on his fellow citizens to show tolerance towards the nation's 3.5 million Muslim community in the wake of ongoing protests against the construction of a mosque in Berlin, DPA reported Saturday.
Talking to the daily Leipziger Volkszeitung, Schaeuble stressed that the construction of churches, synagogues and mosques should not be viewed as a "threat but as a an enrichment".
He added, "Islam has become a part of our country." Schaeuble has repeatedly urged a stepped up Islam dialogue aimed at overcoming differences between Muslims and Christians.
The minister's remarks on Islam followed earlier statements by German Chancellor Angela Merkel who advocated an "open and honest" dialogue with the Islamic world.
The German government hosted last fall its first-ever 'Islam summit' in a bid to promote religious dialogue.
Attended by leaders of 16 Muslim organizations as well as several Muslim scientists and artists, the summit focused on promoting inter-faith dialogue and assessing integrations problems of Muslim migrants in Germany, specifically Turkish and Arab immigrants.
So what? Should Mr. Schäuble order all Muslims out of Germany? The basic rights (incl. religious freedom) apply to Muslims as well as to Christians. It´s not that he´s promoting more Muslims here, but he also doesn´t want a Paris-like situation in Berlin or Cologne.
Will muslims be assessed with a religion tax like other religious congregations in germany... ?

Muslims need to be shown the tolerance they have toward people of other faiths. Actually, that's mean spirited. They should be shipped to their favorite sharia dominated country rather than being slain.
Churches and synagogues are not hatcheries for barbaric plots and laundries for terror money. Mosques are.

And a tumor is part of a body. That doesn't stop the wise physician from excising it in the interest of the patient's ealth.
No good can come of too many muslims within a country's borders. Islam and the infidels cannot peacefully (or at least without conflict) coexist. Flame me if you will. It's just MHO based on not seeing anywhere infidels and muslims live in harmony.

Great! He can have them all. France has already agreed with the Saudi's that they will not interfer with the Muslims if they keep getting oil from the Saudi's. France will fall to the Muslim's within 10 years, then Germany, Spain and the list goes on. Are they all a bunch of cowards over there? But then again, look around you here in this country. How many turbins do you see? Their view is to convert to Islam or die. This country of ours better wake up.
You know, I have some problems with this....Why should ANYONE have tolerance towards them....do they have it towards any of us, and that includes any one of us in the world? No, I don't think so....
IMHO, if they go out of their countries into Germany, France, America, then they are to live the way we do...we don't live their lifestyle, why else did they move out of their countries????
If they think that their religion is going to be the religion of the world, I know alot of people that would tell them to go to their 72 virgins the fastest way they can...I won't change my religion so they can forget about it...
Its time for people to live their lives, they way they want, and not because a bunch of Muslims say we can't.
No, I don't think that Europe wants to survive. Otherwise they would have done something about the situation a long time ago. I am also convinced that we (US) do not want to survive.

Why should I flame you? Your concern is a common assumption. I don´t know what to think yet, because I know of good Muslims, it´s just, that the bad Muslims aren´t too few.
Why not call upon the Muslims residing there to be more tolerant themselves?
