We do need to get back to where we were, if we are to survive as a nation. Unfortunately we're unlikely to get there without a strong authoritarian government taking drastic measures, and that's never going to happen.
I am reminded of the story of Lot, who rather than commit inhospitality, offered the savages his virgin daughters to spare his guests.

I know one thing, after being born and raised in Illinois and moving to North Carolina, the difference in race relations I saw down here was astounding. Multiculturalism is shattering communities across the US by craeting physical and social borders and alienating the sense of "one people" we once shared as a nation. It is renewing many old tribal and race-based feuds that are only simmering below the surface.

Politicians have supported multiculturalism and they are writing the doom of America by not acknowledging us as one people, but a collection of hyphenated Americans.

This rang a bell with me. When I was stationed in Southeast Asia in '62 I noted the high degree of nepotism in both the Thai and South Vietnamese governemntns. I finally realized it was a matter of trust. You could trust members of your family because they were in the same boat with you. In the event of a coup or rebellion, they'd be punished whether or not they supported you, so they might as well support you. But you couldn't trust anyone else.
