At first glance, it seems Catholics are under-represented as a percentage of population..

I guess they don't consider Protestants a religion. It seems they broke down everyone into their actual religion.

Don't ask don't tell great policy for a church. I doubt the really true liberal affiliates with any church for any other reason then votes.

Episcopalians, Jews, and Presbyterians are very overrepresented relative to their percentage of the U.S. population. For example, only 0.7% of Americans are affiliated with the Episcopal Church, USA, yet 6.9% of all congressmen claim membership therein. Catholics represent about 23% of the U.S. population, and some 29% of the Congress report themselves as being Catholics. Members of Baptist congregations are about 15.7% of all Americans, but Baptists represent only 12.7% of Congressional representatives. Atheists, agnostics, and other nonbelievers are the most underrepresented, as 15% of all U.S. citizens adhere to no religion or are atheist/agnostic, yet only 1.1% of the Congress claims no affiliation.

Catholic 155

I will be interested in seeing how many of these Catholics vote on life issues. (If they even allow any life issues to come to a vote.

"How many Catholics in the Senate are Pro Life?"

Sen. Brownback, for one. Used to have Sen. Santorum, before PA got stupid. Don't know if there are others or not. Pretty sure the Dems you listed are not pro-life. Even Casey Jr. is suspect.

The Protestant count was split up into the various denominations.Though the Catholic contingant could also be divided into the various Rites(takes awhile to explain to a Protestant and some Catholics)Basically Catholics make up the largest SINGLE denomination in Congress.

Catholics should be divided into at least two Cathologories: 1) Traditionalists who hold and manifest the traditional tenants of their faith on birth control, abortion etc. 2) Socialists who subscribe to the multicultural model of America, and subscribe to the same views of socialist South American priests, who advance the demographic illegal alien invasion which now wracks the USA. It is my belief that Cathologory 2 activities are unamerican, and basically seditious. They are a curse upon the nation, every bit as dangerous as Islamofascism, In that regard they have done just about every thing against America they can, except take up the gun.
