At least Keith Ellison won't be involved with pork barrel spending. How will he "bringing home the bacon?"

How the Hell did Ellison get access to one of Jefferson's books?

An excellent point from now-almost-forgotten history that is perfectly applicable today.

Ellison probably believes the phrase Barbary Pirates is some sort of homoerotica movie.

In a later meeting with the American Congress, the two future presidents reported that Ambassador Sidi Haji Abdul Rahman Adja had answered that Islam "was founded on the Laws of their Prophet, that it was written in their Quran, that all nations who should not have acknowledged their authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon them wherever they could be found, and to make slaves of all they could take as Prisoners, and that every Musselman (Muslim) who should be slain in Battle was sure to go to Paradise."

Well this proves a couple of things; 1) Our current presence in the Middle east has absolutely nothing to do with the Muslims being pissed at us. 2) The existence of the State of Israel has nothing to do with it either.

Muslims simply have the arrogant idea that they are the only faith that is legitimate, even though they are the 'Johnny come Lately' in the faith arena, and that anyone who doesn't agree and rejects Islam can be killed with impunity.

The Koran is just Mein Kampf in Arabic.

What the author neglects to state is that Presley O'Bannion (seplling), the U.S. Marine Officer who led that force against the pirates of Tripoli, was cheated of a military victory he could have own, by the U.S. State Department negotiating a treaty with the demons before he could act.

The Tripolitanian pirates were the last Islamic group to really threaten the west before the deevelopemnt of advanced military technology by our people - until recently.

The pirates of Tripoli also raided as far north as Ireland and Engalnd, attacking coastal villages and enslaving people there too.

We have met the enemy and it is Islam. Too many of us have yet to recognize it as such.

"millions for defense but not one cent for tribute,"

Was trying to remember who said that the other night as I stood outside the Pelosi coronation event.

"...he chose to use Jefferson's Quran because it showed that "a visionary like Jefferson" believed that wisdom could be gleaned from many sources."

It's obvious that Democrat Keith Ellison needs to glean a little wisdom from the history of Jefferson and his battle with Islam.

I don't care who claims to have come up with the idea of using Jefferson's copy...I would lay money down to bet it was Peter Pace and,

that he suggested john murtha hold it.
