The U.S.- Mexico Social Security Totalization Agreement ...an agreement signed between the Bush administration and the Mexican government in 2004 that would funnel billions of U.S. Social Security funds to Mexican citizens. The Government Accountability Office (GAO) has already warned that as a result of this agreement, the number of unauthorized Mexican workers and family members eligible for social benefits will likely increase. The Social Security Administration itself warns that Social Security is within decades of bankruptcy - yet they seem to have no problem making agreements that hasten its demise...

Very interesting comments on Tom Brokaw's recent immigration "journalism":

Remember, these are responses from folks who actually watch NBC. And they are pissed.

As an ex boyfriend of my future girlfriend once said. "She's your toyota now" If only I had known what he meant.

GWB has proven to be the greatest presidential disaster since Hoover's inattention to the looming financial crisis in 1929. We were twice duped and are paying a dear price for our collective gullibility. If you think the voting populace showed how pissed-off it has become last November, that will look like a retrospective Girl Scout tea party in November 2008.

You don't reward people for breaking the law.

Yup, and as we see, when you do reward people for breaking the law, you will ALWAYS get more lawbreaking.

I agree with you. Unfortunately George Bush cares far more about what his financial supporters want and about pleasing foreign leaders than he does about the future good of the United States.

A prediction: by 2008 Bush will be vilified more on FR than he will be on DU.

Don't ping me to any more threads, Cobra.

Even though I don't agree with the President on his immigration policy, I refuse to be associated with the disrespectful thugs who go around posting stupid graphics (like you did on this thread), and calling the President of the United States names like pre-pubescent boys in a Jr. High locker room.

JimRob has a policy about respecting the Commander in Chief during a time of war, and there isn't an immigration thug who bothers to follow his rules, or gives this man of complete integrity, and unquestioned courage the respect he deserves.

President Bush is EXACTLY the same man we elected in 2000, and reelected in 2004, and if anyone says he's changed, they're admitting that they are ignorant fools, and didn't have a clue as to what he believed in in the first place.

Don't ping me again, Cobra..........EVER.

12 - 20 million illegal aliens

Who, if they have been paying into Social Security for one day "ARE FEDERAL FELONS!" (Identity theft) Why is nothing being said or done about that?

Bluntly put, without 9-11 Bush would have been a one termer.

You are, of course, correct. I'm afraid though that this line of thinking will lead to even more tin foil hat theories regarding who instigated 9/11, but I know you did not mean it in that way (and to be clear, I'm not being sarcastic).

The Totalization Agreement could allow millions of illegal Mexican workers to draw billions of dollars from the U.S. Social Security Trust Fund. Read More>>

Read the Totalization Agreement (6MB PDF file)

http://www.tscl.org/NewContent/Totalization_Agreement.pdf

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

I found the above at
http://www.tscl.org/
It wouldn't load at all with firefox.....I opened an IE browser, and it loaded 10 pdf sheets, each with 4 images of text pages which are readable if enlarged to 200%.....it appears to be the "agreement", but I haven't read it yet.....sorry, I don't know why it says 6MB pdf file

might be best to save this in case it disappears......I have no clue as to how to post it, or I would.....

You are most likely correct.

They will have been given amnesty and will no longer be considered illegal at this point.

Calling for the impeachment of the President is expressly forbidden on this forum.

Perhaps you would fit in better at DU where they do it all the time.

One of few in the media who has been outspoken about this (and I'm waiting to get bashed for mentioning his name) is Lou Dobbs. Bill O'Reilly and Glenn Beck occasionally weigh in, but the rest of the media is silent.

Exactly!

A lot of American college kids cannot get credit for quarters they work during college off-campus because they don't make enough each quarter to qualify but they still pay into the system and it is not returned. Now they want to have illegals only work 18 months and qualify? That is an insult IMO.

That's why I told my kids to work for the University because they never take out for social security. None of the kids have been on work study either. It has been great that they didn't lose a dime to social security when they couldn't get credit for it anyway.
