The U.S.- Mexico Social Security Totalization Agreement ...an agreement signed between the Bush administration and the Mexican government in 2004 that would funnel billions of U.S. Social Security funds to Mexican citizens. The Government Accountability Office (GAO) has already warned that as a result of this agreement, the number of unauthorized Mexican workers and family members eligible for social benefits will likely increase. The Social Security Administration itself warns that Social Security is within decades of bankruptcy - yet they seem to have no problem making agreements that hasten its demise...

But many "Reagan Democrats," who had voted most Republican since 1980, deserted the party in droves.

My cousin is one of those. his comment was, "How can Bush commit more than 100,000 troops to Iraq and do virtually nothing about the southern border. I didn't have an answer.

I am not saying Ms. Barnhart was lying

No you didn't say that. I apologize for indicating that she might have.

I never believe anything the media puts out anymore and prefer to do my own research. I don't believe the government does many things well.

We the people elect our Representatives. Congress has voted for this Totalization agreement every time it has come before them. For some here to say this president has done this for Mexico all by himself is not true.

Joining the Pelosi's in calling for his impeachment is over the top.

I'll do my digging and make up my own mind whether I think it's a good fair policy or not. At this point I don't know enough about the issue to make a decision.

Not much you could say--There's no defense for the indefensible.

Actually, Congress has never voted on a totalization agreement. The agreement is placed before congress by the president and congress has 60 working days to disagree. If no disagreement, it passes automatically. Why, I don't know. To my knowledge all previous agreements have passed without a hitch as they were all industrialized, economically safe and countries with a ss system much like that of the USA.

One of the p roblems that the GAO pointed out in another report was that the other countries were adding dependents after they made the first claim. We have no way of checking this in other countries and knowing the true count.

Problem is, neither of the parties has any interest in eliminating illegal immigration. That means, no matter what effort is expended, it will ultimately be useless. Maybe we should make this *the* voting issue. I think at least some politicians got the message in 2006, we might improve on that in 2008.

and calling the President of the United States names like pre-pubescent boys in a Jr. High locker room.

Where / when did I make that statement?

So you've had experience with that one too? He's a "she" BTW.

I usually only refer to democrats as MOONBATS, but we have a few around here.

And Bushbots.

I respect W very much but there are two issues that really twist my shorts. So therefore I am not eligible for Bushbot status.

If that is so, then you still need to read the archives; '02 is too recent to have seen the threads you need to read! :-)

Gak. Plan should pay out no more to Mexicans who have no business being here, than Mexico itself has paid in. Which is zilch.

I've also noticed that some of them no longer post here. They must have gotten caught an banned. I see there are still some left.

All those that get banned here move on to LibertyPost.org

You can still be banned if you PO the mod, but the discussions there are more free, and the rules alot more relaxed.

Just for the record bobby, Cobra has posted a picture of Cindy Sheehan (saying that I reminded him of her.....which made no sense based on the rational comment he was responding to) with the sole purpose of stabbing me in the heart, because he knows that my son is a soldier and that I support the Commander in Chief and the war, and that comparing me spuriously to Cindy Sheehan would be as vile an insult as could be thrown at me.

I used to respect the guy, but I can't after that.

I chose NOT to reply last night on this thread because of the calls for impeachment and childish, leftist name-calling of the President of the United States which have been deleted since I left the thread.

Cobra, I never said you called the President names. I said it was being done on this thread. You just posted a stupid, disrespectful graphic.

Also for the record, I started a respectful thread on immigration that had over a thousand posts on it, but it had to be controlled so leftists and immigration thugs didn't destroy it.

If you ever find an adult discussion of the issue without the participation of infants and DU infiltrators, let me know.

Until then, I'm staying off any immigration thread.....
