American Passports Found on Bodies of Al Qaeda Fighters in Somalia
January 05, 2007 2:46 PM
Alexis Debat Reports:
A senior official in the Somali government's new Ministry of the Interior told ABC News government forces had recovered "dozens of foreign passports," including several American passports, on the bodies of al Qaeda fighters killed in combat between forces affiliated with the Union of Islamic Courts (UIC) and Ethiopian forces in Somalia.
According to the same source, most of the foreign passports were Sudanese, Pakistani and Yemeni, but several American, British and Australian passports were also recovered.
The senior Somali government official told ABC News that the American passports found on the dead bodies near Baidoa, in Somalia, would be turned over to the American government.
Yesterday al Qaeda's No. 2 leader, Ayman al Zawahri, issued an audiotape statement urging Muslims to join the fight for "jihad" in Somalia.

US citizens (muslims) in Somalia, Australian citizen (muslim)in Iraq, I don't care where they go, as long as they GO! Meanwhile, I can't help but wonder, who pays their travel expenses? Does the imam dip into the 'charity' box at the mosque?
Aussie arrested in Iraq
Rebecca Weisser and Pia Akerman

AN Australian citizen has been arrested by coalition forces in Iraq on suspicion of conspiring to commit terrorist acts.
Warya Kanie, 39, an Iraqi Kurd, came to Australia about three years ago with his young daughter as part of the humanitarian refugee program to join his three brothers, who were already living in Adelaide.
Mr Kanie, who had divorced his wife, was living in a housing trust apartment on unemployment benefits and receiving additional benefits as a single father.
A member of the Australian Iraqi community, who spoke to The Weekend Australian on condition of anonymity, said Mr Kanie was a Sunni and "had extremist views".
Mr Kanie left Adelaide about seven months ago, after gaining Australian citizenship, telling his family that he was going to look for a new wife in Iraq.
But he allegedly told a friend that he was leaving Australian "to go on jihad".
Mr Kanie is alleged to have been staunchly opposed to the occupation of Iraq and supported terrorist acts against Western forces and Iraqis co-operating with them.
Sharif Ali bin Hussein, imam of the Marion Road mosque in Adelaide's southern suburbs where Mr Kanie is thought to have worshipped, denied through an interpreter knowing him.
Mr Kanie travelled to Jordan with his daughter, whom he left with his sister before going on to the Iraqi capital, Baghdad...

Tell me again why the Democrats want to prevent Bush from eavesdropping on known foreign terrorists making phone calls in to the U.S...
nah they probably sent proxies to fight for them http://sacredscoop.com
wonder if they found their student visas on them as well.
Barney Frank is probably ready to launch an investigation into Bush's genocidal polices toward Democrat voters who work as "freedom fighters" in foreign lands. ;)
Looks like we lost another one, woohooo!
Combat death in Somalia
January 06, 2007
AN Australian, believed to be a Muslim, has been killed fighting in war-torn Somalia.
The Melbourne man, 25, is thought to have died late last month during skirmishes with Ethiopian troops.
The Department of Foreign Affairs confirmed the death yesterday. "Consular officials have been in touch with the man's family in Australia who confirm that the man was killed fighting in Somalia, but the circumstances are unclear," a spokesman said.
"Australia has no diplomatic mission in Somalia and it is difficult to provide consular services."
Christian-led Ethiopia invaded Somalia last month to drive fundamentalist Islamists from power. The Islamists have since urged foreign Muslim fighters to join their "holy war".

In other news, the borders are still wide open and Congress is going to save us all by raising minimum wage...
Never mind that the new rule requires US citizens to have a passport to travel to Canada and back, and these ragheads could either be US citizens or merely using modified stolen passports. Now Canada might actually give a damn - sorta maybe - but we all know that mexico doesn't, and as has been reported here, mexican ports of entry who have detained ME people in the past; have actually let them go and directed them north as a method of leaving their country.
Perhpas having a US passport is just a means to enter mexico where they may not be so inclined to give it much scrutiny, and from there they can either try their luck at the border, or just hitch a ride with the next coyote heading north.
I any event, it is germain to this discussion even if it is OT.
Post away! :-))
OBSESSION - seen it fully - very scary indeed.
Just a little addition to your clever assessment! heh heh
Get their names and addresses and cross reference them with voter registrations.
How many do you think were registered Republicans?
{I always disliked hall monitors) ;o)
BTW, great comments!
Accusing these people of conspiracies just because they have passports is "worse than the atrocities at Gitmo."
Boo hoo-hoo, etc.
Dunno. If you just walk a half block on Alvarado Blvd here in LA you can buy passports, driver's licenses and green cards.
Well this is not good. People need to understand that the enemy is trying to kill us. We are at war, and they will not listen to reason. After all, we have been out of Somalia for over 13 years.
Those are some "Americans" that won't have to worry about panties on their head in gitmo.
Yes, but we've been bringing Somalia into the US by the boatload for the last few years. And the new natives are getting restless.

Somali immigration......
http://minnesota.publicradio.org/display/web/2006/02/17/somalipop/.
(snip)Faced with political turmoil and violent unrest in their home country, Somali refugees started coming to the U.S. in large numbers in the mid-1990s. Minnesota quickly became a favored destination, thanks at least in part to a number of well-organized groups established to help immigrants settle, such as Lutheran Social Services and Catholic Charities.
Before long, Ronningen said, a Somali community started to establish itself.
"It's fairly common in immigration, when there's a critical mass - a large group of people from the same places - that they will attract more people from their home country," she said.
In 2004, the total number of Somali residents of Minnesota was estimated to be 25,000, and Ronningen said it could be as high as 30,000 now - with no sign of slowing down.
Strange things are afoot at the Circle K.
Hmmm.
Schiavo lies murdered.
Gonzalez is in the loving embrace of Marxism/Leninism.
Janet Reno remains unindicted.
That doesn't bode well for border obssessives.
