In general election '08 she wins running against the Milquetoast/Spongecake ticket of the opposition, so we'd better hope her own mob family dumps her in Iowa, New Hampshire and other places!

Hillary won because 1. my homestate is a leftist hellhole and 2. her opponent was at first a serial adulterer (now "America's Mayor) and then a doofus from Long Island.

When I read things like this all I can think about is Pelosi and her "culture of corruption"statement. She was applying that name to Republicans when members of her party do things like this. Shame shame!

I think we all know Marc Richs wife earned his pardon on her knees.
The rest of the pardons were political in nature. Buying votes for Hillary was the idea behind them.
However Lazio ran a lousy campaign. He never forced Hillary on the issues, he let her slide. He probably would have lost anyway New Yorkers love celebrities and leftist loons.

Exactly...the day his body was pulled out of the Atlantic was the day he was to announce his senate campaign.

Her opponent, former Long Island Republican Rep. Rick Lazio, seemed to be gaining momentum. At no point was Hillary Clinton in any danger of losing that Senate seat. Lazio put up a spirited fight, but he had no chance. That is the sad truth. Hillary could probably have lost a majority of Jewish votes and still won the state. Like her husband, however, she cannot tolerate political dissension, so she kept the natives quiet with some well-placed and thoroughly contemptible pardons.

Sentenced in 1984 to a 58-year prison term for the possession of more than 700 pounds of explosives and a stockpile of illicit weapons 700 pounds is way more than needed for "personal use".

But we've been told that the "unfriendly" and "warlike" hard-nosed New York newspapers would challenge her, and rake her over for any slight misdeed.
So, obviously this didn't happen.

Did I read that there was a district in Harlem that had 100% turn out --- all for her?

Heh... I have to give credit to Hillary for finding a state with a proven track record of electing non-residents to the US Senate. Other than that, she'd be nowhere without Bill.
