Once the precident has been set to give away retirement and disability/medicaid benefits to illegal immigrants, another incentive for them to break the law with unlawful entry has been created.

This ABSOLUTELY HAS TO BE FOUGHT or it's good bye.

Should this be approved, everyone in the US should stop paying SS taxes and bring the system crashing down. Not only will our poor children and grandchildren be crushed with SS taxes so that politicians can keep buying the votes of the greedy elderly, but now they will be financing the buying of Mexican voters as well. This is simply outrageous.

So basically, under Hillary, we get nationalized health care, but under Bush, we get Social Security welfare checks flowing to illegals south of the border. Is there any difference between the Republicans and Democrats any more, besides the name?!

I think this article isn't entirely accurate. With this type of agreement, it doesn't need approval by Congress.Congress has so many days to strike it down if they don't approve. If Congress does nothing the agreement stands. This is why it is so secret. We need to call, write, mail, email and then call again our congressmen.

Wonderful. I've been paying in since 1978, and I'll never see a dime. Instead, illegals will reap the benefits of my labor.

Defenders of the agreement argue that it is a matter of fairness.

"It's only for people who have paid into the system," said Josh Bernstein of the National Immigration Law Center, a pro-immigrant advocacy group.

Fairness, Fairness, FAIRNESS you asshat!!!

Say it's 'fair' to that American with a Hispanic name who was in the news two weeks ago because the IRS wants $75,000 from him. All because his SS Number was used in three separate states by at least three different freaking illegals.

Go ahead, tell him it's 'fair when he goes and tries to collect HIS SS benefits and they say, sorry you've already used it up - three times.

(All illegal enablers and 'supporters' should be rounded up and shot at dawn - ALL OF THEM! Yeah YOU know who I mean, and I'll pull the GD trigger!!! Just keep giving me ammo.)

Illegal aliens use phony or stolen SS Numbers, if they pay SS at all.

How does the Social Security Administration know who these lucky recipients are or even if they qualify for the payments?

Does the SSA simply take the Word of these thieves and lawbreakers? Isn't there some provision in the law preventing fraudulent payments where fraud is involved?

Oh, wait a minute. We already hand them free welfare, education and medical services. We may as well give them free retirement as well. Never mind.

Sen. Cornyn on Fox&Friends says this bill isn't going to happen.

Then he adds the disclaimer, "unless Congress approves it."

Americans are required to pay in 40 quarters to qualify for full benefits. Foreigners can pay in 18 month to qualify for full benefits.

[Cornyn, IIRC, stated shortly after the border fence bill passed that the fence would never be built.]

Cornyn, "I would be shocked and amazed if Congress approved this [SS] bill."

[Yeh? Congress (as in Senate) didn't mind passing that atrocious comprehensive immigration bill (a.k.a. amnesty for illegals for those in Rio Linda) last session.]

It should be called just what it really is, "Socialism".

"Compassionate Socialism", but Socialism none the less.

One more reason I regret our party put Bush as our choice, he is just like his dad, or maybe worse.

Now we are going to take our retirement "assistance" and pay illegals to break our laws. Makes sense to me

would cost the retirement and disability fund a relatively scant $105 million annually for the first five years.

Considering the Bush Admin's inability to even come close to cost predictions (and he earned an MBA?), that $105 million will probably end up being several times higher.

I recall, that the Prescription Drug bill was supposed to cost around $380B. Three days after it passed, ooopps, they meant around $534B. And within a few months, he hehe, they actually meant closer to $720B.

Then this from the Washington Post:

The White House released budget figures yesterday [February 8, 2005] indicating that the new Medicare prescription drug benefit will cost more than $1.2 trillion in the coming decade... source WP link

This is so obviously wrong, I am flabbergasted that anyone with an ounce of common sense would do anything but laugh at the thought.

How on earth did we get to this point? Do our political leaders really believe that the American citizenry can continue to monetarily give, give, give to Mexicans, to Africans with Aids, to 3rd world countries, to tsunami victims, to earthquake victims, to drought victims???

The Congress (and I'm afraid, Bush now) don't give a rat's a$$ about taxpayers anymore. They are settled in their own little untouchable towers now. They vote themselves raises every year or more. Vote themselves more and more perks and benefits. I am sick of it all - just sick of it.

How can we the people start to fix this mess? Or is it fixable before the whole country slips down a sewer? Maybe our dear USA should collapse and be rebuilt. And we should forceably exile every dang Congressmen currently in office to Mexico, Africa, whatever their favorite 3rd world country of choice they would like.

I'm speechless.

Let's get to the bottom of this: Illegal Alien sneaks across the border into the U.S. In order to work, needs Soc. Sec. No. etc. and buys some stolen IDs from crook, works for 7 years and returns to Mexico or further south. He/she wants monies from stolen ID (Social Security number) BUT hasn't worked the 40 quarters that Social Security requires for payouts.

As the stolen Social Security number is mine, and I DID work for the 40 quarters, does the Bush Administration, WITH CONGRESSIONAL APPROVAL intend to grant this illegal alien who bought my stolen IDs, approval to receive payments based upon MY, and MY EMPLOYER'S TAXES?

This agreement with Fox was not confidential, and was in the news at the time. The pubbies I have seen comment on it recently, seemed to indicate it was some sort of secret.

That's just BS.

As for the agreement, it should not pass Congressional muster unless we can get something very solid in trade from Mexico. It makes no sense to return SS taxes to illegal workers. If and when they become legal, that would be a different ballgame.

Well, I'm old enough that a couple of years ago I went to the Social Security office to apply for my benefit. Not disability - the regular "you are old" benefit. For the record I am an American citizen - born and bred in Philadelphia and paid into the SS system all my working life.

So there I am sitting in the local waiting room of the SS office. And a large and completely filled waiting room it was - standing room only.

And guess what? I'm the only old lady there. Everyone else is young. Most of them are not dressed like me either. They are wearing turbans, head scarves, hipster type jeans, tattoos and speaking every language BUT English.

I felt really like the odd man (woman) out. It was obvious that the social security system as originally envisioned by its founders as a small retirement nest egg - to keep starvation from the door - has turned into something else entirely.

I personally know of a very elderly Russian couple who emigrated to the USA and IMMEDIATELY went onto SS. Never paid dime into it.

Well, my friends, this last little (big) booboo by the Bush administration was the last straw for me. I took down my Bush/Cheney sign from the back window of my car.

I have given up on this administration or even the prospect of a future Republican conress doing anything at all truly conservative or to benefit the country or to listen to their constituency. They've thrown their base away.

I have a feeling that with a democrat congress we really won't see any difference in policy. None at all.

P.S. - I suggest you take a trip to your local SS office and see who is sitting there.
