From article:
dear reader, unless you've gone on record in favor of abandoning the residents of the cities listed above to their own devices at the times they were (or are) extremely dangerous places to be, it would seem that you have no basis for contending that we should do that to the people of Iraq.Bada Bing!

Many US Cities Have Had Murder Rates Higher Than Iraq's 2006 'Violent Death' Rate
Perhaps our elected officials should spend a little more time, effort, and money (ours) concentrating on domestic issues like crime than on foreign welfare and entanglements?

And try to remember that the MSM doesnt delineate between accidental or intentional deaths in Iraq.
If you crashed your hummvee or were rolled over by one of out own tanks you get added to the list.

If only they had "Martin Luther King Boulevard" and "Malcolm X Avenue" in Iraq, our troops job would be much easier.

We need a Patton to replace this guy!
Do we have a Patton in the military?

The article's assertion is false. According to the Strategy Page web site, the 2006 Iraqi death toll was 11 times the U.S. murder rate and two-thirds of the American death toll (per capita) in the worst year of World War II, 1944. Go to:

US cities vs Iraq the country is like apples and oranges comparison.
How about America the country vs Iraq the country for a more fair evaluation?

Well my goodness- whatever happened to the 'reliable' Lancet report (which was riddled with vitriolic agenda driven lies) of 650,000 violent deaths in Iraq that they claim have happened? What? Was that a lie? Gosh- didn't see that comming http://sacredscoop.com

Maybe a good hurricane would clean up Iraq and most of the bad guys would move to Houston.

To be fair, it would be nice to compare the murder statistics for both before and after the Iraq war. Prior to the war, however, Iraq was run by a tryant and most of the murders in that country were actually CAUSED by their government. So, it is safe to say that they did not keep accurate statistics for their own murders. However, during the period of 1987-88, Amnesty International estimated that 100,000 Kurds were murdered. So, if Amnesty International's numbers are correct, the year 2006 was a definite improvement over the years during the late 1980's. The deaths of those Kurds, by the way, were caused by their own government.

Here in Baltimore, three murders in the first three days of the New Year. Looks like we're right on target.
