Why? The population of Iraq is 25 mil. Closer to LA and NY than to the US.

How about America the country vs Iraq the country for a more fair evaluation? That's a good point, if your aim is to conduct a fair evaluation. But when you're already comparing apples and oranges, why not compare a bucket of one versus a truckload of another.
