New Years Resolutions

Did you make a resolution this year?
How's that working for ya so far?:)

Perhaps this is the year to take more risks....

Who amongst us does't resolve to lose some weight!

(Some say it's all about portion control)

Maybe this is the year to look for that perfect new employment opportunity...

Or perhaps we could learn more appreciation for the work we have!:)

Maybe finally take that cruise you've alway's dreamed about!

Of course quitting smoking is always high on the priority list!

Maybe this is the year to invest in that new car you've been dreaming of!

Of course moderate drinking always tops the list.....just see what it can lead too?

Organization & ridding oneself of clutter...high on the list of resolutions!

Then there's the resolution to get to the gym & get in better shape....

Well....whatever your New Years resolution is we hope you achieve your goals & never give up!

Of course nothing can weaken our resolve in the support of our Troops, Veterans, Allies & thier families! Wishing you all the best in 2007!

Low carb macaroni???? This I might could learn.

Dreamfields sells it but you might have to get it online b/c I know that the local grocery store here only stocks their spaghetti and penne. I also have to order their lasagna online to get my lasagna fix.

Dreamfields Healthy Living Pasta Introduces New Pasta Products

Lasagna and Rotini Join the Dreamfields Pasta Family

For Immediate Release

Carrington, ND – Due to high consumer demand, Dreamfields Healthy Living Pasta is introducing two new products—Lasagna and Rotini.  Both will become available this spring in supermarkets nationwide.  Lasagna and Rotini, among the most popular cuts of pasta, join the existing Dreamfields Pasta line including Spaghetti, Elbows, Penne Rigate, and Linguine.  The new Dreamfields Lasagna and Rotini come in 16 oz. boxes and retail for approximately $2.59.

Dreamfields is excited to launch Lasagna and Rotini into the pasta market,” says Mike Crowley, President of Dreamfields.  “Our customers have expressed a great interest in these pasta cuts.  Taste, low carb, and high fiber are overwhelming benefits that our Dreamfields customers tell us are important to them, and Dreamfields delivers these important nutrition benefits.”

Dreamfields is a health promoting pasta with authentic pasta taste and texture that the entire family will love.  Clinical testing shows that Dreamfields has a 65% lower glycemic index as compared to regular pasta, and contains over twice the fiber of regular pasta.  Fiber intake is very important for both overall health and weight loss. Dreamfields also has only five grams of digestible carbohydrates verses regular pasta at 40 grams.  Good carb management can help control blood sugar levels more effectively among people with diabetes. I want this now.

Spaghetti Pomodoro
Spaghetti with Olives, Capers and Tomatoes

Serves 6
By Chef Antonio Cecconi

When fresh tomatoes are abundant in the summer and fall, I will use them. Because this is a primary sauce, I use canned tomatoes when fresh are no longer available. You may omit the red pepper for milder flavor or substitute Kalamata olives for the capers and black olives. – Chef Antonio

This sauce may be refrigerated up to 48 hours or put in the freezer up to 2 months.

Ingredients:

1 tablespoon olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon red onion, chopped
1/4 teaspoon hot pepper flakes
1 can (28-ounces) whole peeled tomatoes
1/2 cup sliced black olives
2 tablespoons capers
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried)
1/4 cup white wine or water
16 ounces Dreamfields Spaghetti
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese

Directions:
  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook garlic, onion and pepper flakes 5 minutes or until sizzling hot.
  2. Drain tomatoes and break up. Add into skillet along with olives and capers and cook 5 minutes. Add oregano, basil and wine, cook on low for 10 minutes, stirring frequently.
  3. Prepare pasta according to package directions; drain well. Toss pasta with sauce and Parmesan cheese. Serve immediately.
