In consideration of Rep. Ellisons use of a Koran from Jeffersons research collection for his unofficial swearing in.
"The Ambassador [to England from Tripoli] answered us that it was founded on the Laws of their Prophet, that it was written in their Koran, that all nations who should not have acknowledged their authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon them wherever they could be found and to make slaves of all they could take as Prisoners."

Dr. Natana DeLong-Bas: "I think that the Western media and the world have given Osama bin Laden more weight [than he has in reality] and exaggerated in depicting the danger he poses. Likewise, I do not find any evidence that would make me agree that Osama bin Laden was behind the attack on the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center. All we heard from him was praise and acclaim for those who carried out the operation." Either way, bin Laden is a piece of crapola. Under the good professor's theory, the rest of Islam deserves more of the blame than bin Laden, though. I can't argue with that.

This author/academic is showing all the symptoms of a fully developed case of academentia.
Lobotomy, followed with life long confinement to a low light, acousticly subdued, polymer covered, living space is the only known treatment.

We all need to recall that video from late October 2001, the video that WAS NOT INTENDED FOR PROPAGANDA USAGE, the video that showed the encounter, in Kandahar (SE. Afghanistan), between bin Laden and a sheikh from Saudi Arabia. In that video, bin Laden relates how he and a few of his followers--then in Afghanistan--on 9/11/01 listened to radio reports that afternoon (morning in NYC). Bin Laden said that those followers around him did not understand why he was so interested in listening to the news that day. Then there was the news of the first hit; bin Laden tells his listeners, then and in Oct, to just wait, wait, another surprise is coming. Then the 2nd hit.
To me, this is incontrovertible proof that bin Laden was the mastermind of the 9/11 attacks.

Q: "To begin with, why did you choose to discuss Sheikh Muhammad bin 'Abd Al-Wahhab in your doctoral dissertation?" A: Writing a favorable dissertation about America's enemies has been a great way to get a good professorship for the last 40 years.
