(01/03/07 -- DURHAM) - Duke lacrosse defendants Colin Finnerty and Reade Seligmann are both expected to be reinstated today as Duke students in good standing, two sources close to the case told ABC News. Also on abc11tv.com: Send us news tips | Desktop Alert | ABC11 AccuWeather | Pinpoint Traffic Defendant David Evans was allowed to graduate last spring, but underclassmen Seligmann and Finnerty were suspended from the University pending a resolution of the assault charges.
December 22, 2006, prosecutors dropped rape charges against the three Duke lacrosse players accused of attacking a stripper at a team party, but the three still face kidnapping and sexual offense charges.
According to court papers filed by District Attorney Mike Nifong, the accuser says she now does not know if she was penetrated during the alleged attack.
The accuser, a 28-year-old student at North Carolina Central University, has said three men raped her in a bathroom at a March 13 Duke lacrosse team party where she was hired to perform as a stripper.
The indicted players - Dave Evans, Collin Finnerty and Reade Seligmann - all say they are innocent, and their attorneys have consistently said no sex occurred at the party.
Evans graduated from Duke in May, the day before he was indicted. Sophomores Finnerty and Seligmann were suspended following their April 2006 indictments.
The Duke lacrosse team was also suspended from play, but was reinstated in June on a provisionary basis.
A press conference from defense attorneys is expected this afternoon.

How did you play with fire and what lumps did you take?
Thanks for proving my point.
You're just here to act superior to everybody else.
Sanctimoniousness isn't very attractive.
Sounds like a case of I got hurt and I want everybody else to hurt, too.
I'm interested in seeing their accusers and detractors suffer quite a bit before I'm satisfied.
Well, that is the rub.
Don't be sad for me. I'm delighted when there is injustice in the world to see it handled appropriately, like a lawsuit. This was the most unjust case I've ever heard of in my lifetime.
Maybe you think it's okay for an out-of-control, lying, and manipulative prosecutor to ruin the college careers of three very nice young men, to ruin their reputations, and to force their families into spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to defend against these bogus charges. Most people I know don't think it's okay at all and that Nifong needs to be brought to his knees before he does the same thing to my kid or yours.
Were I them I wouldn't return to Duke after how the school treated them and after how little support they got from it.
If any election is deserving of a recall, this one is!
"When I got burned because I played with fire, I took my lumps."
How about if you got decapitated because you played with fire?
No gots.
You can't possibly be this ignorant. They were kicked out of college. Their families were forced to spend untold hundreds of thousands of dollars for attorneys. Their lacrosse team was disbanded. The senior lacrosse players at Duke had their pre-graduation job offers revoked.
You know what...if you honestly think all of that is okay, I hope you are unjustly charged and bankrupted by the legal fees.
I'll try to make this clearer for you.
The action was hiring a stripper.
Sure, maybe 99 times out of 100, it's a safe thing to do, with no consequences at all.
But, there's always the chance that cavorting with a woman of questionable moral character will burn you. That's what happened here. The consequence is damage to their reputations. (Note to all: The subject of this thread-within-the-thread is "who will restore these young men's reputations?")
I think even you will agree that these boys got more than "lumps" for their mistake.
I'd tell them to screw off. Go to UNC.
Yes, sometimes the lumps end up being bigger than we ever imagined.
Oh, well. That's the chance we take.
Man, guess you were just perfect in college. They are 21 and wanted to have some dancers. Get a grip man....Don't be so sanctimonius (not sure spelled right)
The appropriate consequence for hiring a stripper and getting caught at it is being kicked out of the Bible study. You seem to lack all sense of proportion. That's OK. Your turn around the wheel will come.
Thank you Mother Teresa.
You sound just a bit santimonious my friend.
Sounds like you never went to college. That is SOP for most frat parties. Get a life.
