How so? Rudy can't pick staff, apparently. No leap there!

That machine plants people in races around the country pretending to be Republicans -- a lot of them are ones that infiltrated the College Republicans from what I can tell.

Fierce, we've all gotten your message.

You aren't likely to vote for Rudy.

You know, the Watergate plumbers were pikers compared to the Democrat operatives at work stealing computers, slashing tires, stealing video tapes, trashing email, stealing classified documents, etc. Shall I go on?

And yet the Republicans continue to get pilloried over Watergate.

"And yet the Republicans continue to get pilloried over Watergate."

The Democrats took the Watergate scandal very seriously. Republicans react to Democrat scandals and lawbreaking as so much background noise.

My suspicion as well is that it came from the Clintonites but then I have been told that some of them are working with McCain people. I would look for someone on Crist's staff that went to McCain because I think McCain will be doublecrossed by some staffers in the end who are loyal to Ms. Clinton but for now they have the same aim -- take out Rudy.

Seems like a bizaar way to try to take him out. It's not like the "top secret" plan had anything particularly juicey in it. Just mundane campaign stuff. And it seems that the act of theft reflects more on his opposition than it does on himself. Afterall, everyone is a suspect in this unethical behavior, except Rudy.

Yes, indirectly, if it was one of his chosen staff who did it.

Good, my message is getting 'traction'. Nobody, well, certainly no conservative, should choose Rudy to be the Republican candidate.

This is bigger then Rudy and something we all should be concerned about because I think the Republican Party has been infiltrated locally by the Clintonites in a lot of areas. We had major problems here in OK with young staffers who were arrogant coming out of the College Republicans. I am not even sure they are Republican from the dirty tricks I witnessed.

This group has fooled a lot of folks into thinking they know what they are doing, have experience, and no one is vetting them in campaigns across America.

My suggestion is to look at campaigns run in your State and see how many people in their 20's were major players in campaigns and see if those races were lost. It happened here in Oklahoma and would bet it has elsewhere from people I have talked with. I am not convinced they are Republicans.

This isn't as much about Rudy as the fact we all need to start taking a look in our local areas because I am beginning to think the Clintonites have DemocRATs posing as Republican consultants and campaign staffers. This is what we may be seeing in this case. Forget Rudy and where he stands because all of us need to take a serious look in our own areas to see if there is a pattern.

Trust me that we may have a much larger problem then anyone's dislike or support of Rudy that could bite us in 2008. We had some races we should not have lost except we lost them due to poor campaign advice. Who were these people who gave the advice and who benefitted from the bad advice?

I agree it is bizarre but we had similar things happen here in OK in the Governor's primary.

Someone here in Norman funneled the DemocRAT Talking Point papers that came out of Ms. Clinton and her staff to a Republican I happen to know. One of the strategies was to get DemocRATs to switch and get in good with campaigns. That was back in 2000. We have so many Dems switch that it made this County a Republican County, but how many are still loyal to the DemocRATs is what I would like to know. They have infiltrated the Party as elected officials and one of ours does the most dirty tricks I have ever witnessed.

Please see #51 and forget about Rudy for the moment because if I am even a little right, we are in trouble for 2008 no matter who are candidate is for President. I have no idea which state you are from but would do me a favor and mentally think about campaigns in your area and what happened in 2006.

Also need to know if the College Republicans in your area were involved and did they work all campaigns or a select few.

Have a real bad feeling that a Talking Point paper I read back in 2001 has come to life.

I wouldn't vote for RINO Rudy even if he was the only person on the ticket.

I get your point, but that still doesn't help Rudy's case in any way.

I am not talking about Rudy right now -- this could happen to any of our candidates. It is a much bigger picture that we all need to be looking at -- this may be the tip of the iceberg of how the Clintonites intend to defeat us in 2008.

Do you think you can take off your anti-Rudy hat long enough to look in your area?

I could. Then again I am in CT, where our choices were basically Lieberman and Lamont. Think it will really matter? Cripes, the RSC couldn't even field a decent candidate, never mind have a decent staff.

I'm (we are) working on it, though.

Good luck to you guys in CT. Please be careful who you have with you working to field some good candidates.

Thanks for the reply! I am looking for people in states that had close races that we should have won.

"I sure do and also remember that a briefcase belonging to Karen Hughes was taken in 2000 while in a motorcade in MO."

I was thinking of that very thing, yesterday when I heard about the Guliani story. Sometimes the moles are not only the young college kids. They can be middle-aged men, whose past resume don't add up.

But I'll grant you this, they try to dig in early in the campaign and offer "volunteer" help to campaign managers.

I hope that all the liberal candidates (Republican or Democrat) have such moles and leaks in order to sink their chances of winning any election. Don't you?
